Willard Carroll Smith Jr., known as Will Smith was born on September 25, 1968, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
He is an actor, rapper and a cinematographic, musical and television producer, considered by Forbes as the most profitable star in in the world.
As an african-american man, he has been suffering a lot of prejudice in his life. Besides, practically, there was no black representation on TV before the sitcom "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air". It helped millions of people in different countries to feel that they also belong to the art of cinema.
He has been nominated for five Golden Globe Awards, two Academy Awards, two Oscars for best actor, and has won four Grammy Awards, in 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001.
Will is son of Caroline Bright, administrator of the school board of Philadelphia, and by virtue of it, he helps several school institutions with more than $1.3 million.
He is such a astonishing person and actor. It is all proved with his success and fame on the world stage: Will Smith have accumulated more than eight great films in a row, earning millions of dollars.
Professional life and origin

Will Smith grew up in a mixed neighborhood, Wynnefield in western Philadelphia, where orthodox jews lived with muslims.
His mother, Caroline Bright was part of the school board in Philadelphia. And his father, Willard Smith, owned a refrigeration company there.
They broke up when Will entered the high school, but that didn’t affect him that much.
Besides that, although the Protestant belief of his family, Smith studied in a strict catholic school. He was such a good student and had an incredibly quick reasoning, which allowed him to escape from problems when he got into one.
That's why he was nicknamed Prince
When he was younger, was already in love with music and learned to play the piano with his mother.
With his strong passion for music, and the support even from the school, Will Smith started rapping at the age 12. Despite his intelligence, he did not go to college, and instead, begun his musical career

His career started as a very indebted rapper and ended up being one of the most earning actors in the world, receiving 20 million caches in the suicide squad movie.
The series “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” made his career explode. Before the series he befriended DJ Jazzy with whom he worked as a rapper. They released three albums in the late '80s and won a Grammy with the song "Parents don't understand".
It was Prince Jones who gave him a great opportunity for a sitcom as the protagonist, calling him to do the crazy thing on the spot, being among the 20 series with the most audience with a lot of success in several countries, even in Brazil.
He was nominated twice to the Golden Globe as best actor, the film “Where the day takes you” was also very successful, as well as “Made in America”.
Will wanted to be the best Hollywood actor, so he started to study what sells the most and the type of film that people like, then would choose the projects he wanted to participate in. Afterwards, in 1995, he debuted in bad boys, being him the main actor and, guaranteeing a place in films like "Independence Day", "Men in Black".

Activism
In 1996, together with his wife, the actor founded the Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation aiming to improve lives and uplift humanity by giving minorities a platform and motivating individuals to achieve their best potential.
The foundation focuses on areas such as arts, education, empowerment, sustainability, health and wellness
Will Smith claims: “I want to do good. I want the world to be better because I was here. I want my life, I want my work, my family, I want it to mean something. It’s like if you are not making someone else’s life better, then you’re wasting your time. Your life will become better by making other lives better.”
Smith suffered prejudice throughout his whole life because of his skin color. In his opinion, racism will never be fully eliminated from our society but we must learn to respect and live in harmony.
Through interviews and posts on social media, he shows his support for the Black Lives Matter movement. He said he was very excited to see these protests getting more attention and concern from the whole world.
