Born on September 25th in 1983 at Edwards Air Force Base in the desert outside of Los Angeles, at a very young age, he relocated to Stone Mountain, Georgia, where he was raised. The celebrity lived with his mother, who was a day-care manager, father, that worked in a post office, sister, brother, a rotating cast of foster kids and two adopted siblings. He described his household as chaotic sometimes. The musician also grew up in a religious household. He believes that even though being a Jehovah’s Witness made his classmates in school don’t fully understand him, it helped him seeing the world in a different and more creative way, being later explicit in the lyrics of his songs.Looking back to his childhood, the actor says that his early life wasn’t easy. His family was one of a few African American families in the area and he recalls that there were confederate flags everywhere and that the parents of his friends didn’t want their daughters to date him. Furthermore, according to the entertainer, he remembers seeing drug dealers and people dying in front of him. Instead of giving in, the musician dreamed of a bright future and even wrote himself a letter at age 11 saying “I’m gonna try and I’m gonna save the world”.
