Jordan Peele's biography

Jordan Haworth Peele is a very important North American director, comedian and actor. Born on 21 february 1979 in New York City, he was raised by his white mother and black father and grew up on New York City's Upper West Side.

Peele is very original on his productions, such as “Us” and refused the opportunity to direct Akira. He works for Comedy Central, featuring sketches about topics that included race, racism, homophobia, transphobia, and gender. Peele received an offer from Saturday Night Live to impersonate Obama, only to have to turn the job down since he was still under contract with Mad TV.

Peele's early life

Jordan Peele was raised in New York by his white mother, Lucinda Williams, and his black father, Hayward Peele. Hayward was mostly absent from his life. From an early age he was interested in performing and in movies. After finishing his elementary education at a public school, he attended a private high school, from which he graduated in 1997. He then enrolled at Sarah Lawrence College.

At first, he studied puppetry, but a class on comedy inspired him. He became a member of a comedy troupe, and he soon left school to pursue comedy full-time. With his classmate and fellow troupe member Rebecca Drysdale, Peele initially formed an act that they billed as “Two White Guys”. This helped him to develop a sense of timing that helped him succeed as a director.

  After the comedy, Jordan blew up and made another tv series being the main character named " Key & Peele'' and then he got married in 2016  with Chelsea Peretti, also an actress, and had one son named Beaumont Gino Peele who still lives in New York.

Jordan's adulthood

 For being raised only by his mother, he saw the difficulty of raising a child alone, so he wanted to be a supportive and present father. In every film that he made and is making he is always trying to fight against racism and criticising the society mostly white people. Doing this the actor believes he can stimulate other persons to fight for equality and human rights.

During his time in comedy he realized that becoming a horror film writer, producer and maker would be better to his career so he stopped acting to  produce "Get Out" and "Us", because horror can tease who is watching and cause genuine feelings, such as fear, and this choose made him won a lot of awards.

Now let's talk about Jordan Peele's achievements. He is best known for his television and film work in the comedy and horror genres. His best role was in 2003, when he was hired as a member of the Fox comedy series "Mad TV". He was part of the show until 2008. In 2018, he won an Oscar for best original script for the film he directed: “Get Out”, being the first black man to ever win it, and he almost won another with BlacKkKlansman.

Accomplishments

In 2008, Peele was nominated for an Oscar for the first time in the "Outstanding Original Song and Lyrics" category for a parody of the fifty cent song "Man T". His parody is called "Sad Fitty Cent". After that, Jordan Peele released several films that were very successful, always horror or comedy. Today, he is coming up with a new movie called "Candyman".

To sum up, Jordan Peele isn't just an ordinary filmmaker and actor. He is considered to be one of the most influential persons in the black history, because, besides being the first black man to win an Oscar, he since the beginning of his career is criticising the white society for thinking they're superior due to all the problems that blacks suffered in the past. Peele has always done that to give hope to everyone including his son that one day the whole society is going to be treated equally and fairly and he is one of the most inspirational black history person nowadays too and he will probably continue to be in the future because of his legacy and piece of hope that he is giving.
