"Never say never, because limits, like fears, are often just an illusion". This sentence was once told by the famous businessman and former basketball player Michael Jordan. He is one of the most important players of basketball and this biography will cover how he got to the place he is today, including his childhood, adulthood, accomplishments and his impact on racial inequality.
CHILDHOOD AND EARLY LIFE

SCHOOL AND EDUCATION
Despite being famous for basketball skills since his early life, Michael Jordan was a very lazy kid. He was born on February 17, 1963 in New York, Brooklyn neighborhood. Later, his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina, where Jordan started attending to the Emsley A. Laney High School, in which he discovered that he wanted an athletic career.
Jordan was very short for the standart basketball player height in his school, but since he truly liked the sport, he decided to prove his worth and started practicing a lot, even though he wans't tall.

RACISM

During his childhood, Jordan had his view on the concept of race shaped consideraly because in the 1970s, North Carolina had very high influence from the Ku Klux Klan. Also, after watching the miniseries "Roots" in a young age, he discovered about racism and the abuse that his African-Americans ancestors suffered.
Jordan commented that in 1977, a random girl at his school called him the N-Word and as a reaction he threw soda at her. He defined himself as "racist" because he was against all white people during that time.
His reaction was a result of all the rage he had inside after knowing about racism and all the suffering people had. He released it all in this situation and after it started hating white people until he got older.
Adulthood
Michael Jordan played for the North Carolina University, where he conquerge many titles. In the draft he went to Chicago Bulls. When he joined the team was one of the worst of NBA but after spending a couple years playing, his team became one of the biggest champions of the tournament.
He decided to retire for the first time when his father was murdered, he came back and after his coach was changed, he complety retired for the Bulls. He camed back by the Washintong Wizards after the 9/11 terrorist atack, but didn't gain any recognizement because of his advanced age.
In 1989 Michael Jordan married Juanita Vanoy and had 3 children together, Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmin Jordan. In 2006, after 17 years together they got divorced and in 2013 he got married again, but this time with the cuban model Yvette Prieto, and with her they had two twins Victoria and Isabel in 2014.
Today Jordan lives on a luxury house in Florida with his wife and daughters, he also has two properties: one in Chicago, Illinois and the other in Cornellus, North Carolina.
In 2020 Netflix made their Michael Jordan documentary named "The Last Dance".

Michael Jordan has many carrer achievements, such as 6 NBA rings, 6 MVP's finals, 5 season MVP's, 10 all-NBA team, the highest average points and considered by most as the greatest player of all time. Other than his carrer sucess, he also made accomplishments against racial issues. He is one of the most successful black man, being the only CEO and owner of an NBA team, the Charlotte Hornets.

AS A PLAYER

Jordan never got too involved in activists causes including racism. When he was at his career highest point he was asked to support the democrat and black candidate in North Carolina. He donated a big amount of money for the democrat campaign, but never said anything in public, and the republican with racist speeches won. Later he was asked why he didn't get involved, Michael answered: "Republicans also buy shoes".
AFTER AN INTERVIEW

After his career ended Michael Jordan was asked why he didn't get involved in anti-racist fights. He said that he just wanted to play and focus in his work, and he may have been selfish, but it was what he wanted.

In the protests of 2020 the atitude of Michael Jordan about racism changed. He has manifested his self against discrimination in social media and donated 100 million dolars to an anti-racist organization.
