7th Grade STEM - OPEN HOUSE 2021 

PE at home!?! In Physical Education, we want our students to learn why they need to be physically active, especially now! We want our students to learn how they can be physically active, even with limited choices and equipment. With this knowledge, our hope is that our students will be empowered to be physically active and in addition learn new skills to be able to participate in new activities!

An assignment I am proud of is the Basketball 20 second video because I thought I would be very bad at shooting basketballs, but I actually did good. 

My favorite assignment was the baseball hitting, throwing, and catching video because I enjoy playing baseball.

This class provides a balanced visual arts program, which guides me to achieve the standards in the Visual Arts.&nbsp;In Design Crafts, I am exploring three-dimensional processes with different materials using traditional and nontraditional constructive techniques.&nbsp;I am enhancing my artistic perception, creative expression, aesthetic value, and developing life long learning in the visual arts. Some of the topics we have learned are Elements of Art, the Color Wheel, Sketchbook Project, The Getty Challenge Project, Dia de Los Muertos Art, Autumn Leaves Art, Diwali: Paper Diya Art, Anime/Manga Graphic Novel Art, Chinese New Year Art, Celebrating Black History: Visual Artists, and Costume Designing.

Our historical journey covered the following:

I am proud of my still life assignment because I think that it came out good despite me never drawing fruit or anything other than humans.

I improved during the cityscape color wheel project because I improved at building designs and coloring.

My favorite assignment was the sketchbook project because it gave me creative freedom to draw what I wanted.

One of the cornerstone events that helps us in maintaining the home to school connection and showcasing our student's many accomplishments, is Open House.&nbsp; While we would prefer to host Open House in typical, in-person format, current circumstances don't permit us. Even though our school buildings have been closed, your children have continued to learn and shine.
