Introduction
There's a lot to consider to understand cancer. Cancer is not just one disease, there are over 100 types of cancer. Cells are the smallest living unit, they are part of all living things. Those cells grow, divide, and also die. Cancer happens when those cells don't die and grow out of control. Then it keeps growing and growing, this can make someone really sick, and if not treated, lethal.

In this article I will talk about what is cancer? (causes, number of cases, types,) how is cancer staged?how to prevent cancer and getting better after having this disease

What are the most common types of cancer?
The most common cancer is breast cancer. Followed by prostate cancer and cervix uteri that's an uterus cancer.

In this year there were an estimated 18.1 million cancer cases around the world. Of those, 9.5 million cases were in men and 8.5 million in women. We can expect 29 million cases by 2040 due to the aging and growth of the population. One in four men and one in five women develop the disease, and one in eight men and one in eleven women die from it. Cancer is also more common in men than in women. This information is taken from cancer prevalence and incidence.

Cancer treatments
There are three main cancer treatments. These treatments are surgery, chemotherapy, or radiation. The choice of treatment depends on:
the organ in which the cancer is found.
the type of cancer someone has.
the stage of the tumor

Surgery: surgery is the oldest of cancer treatments. You go into surgery, cancer cells are removed and replaced with healthy cells. It is an effective but risky operation. It is risky because the patient can die in surgery. It is often used as a last resource.

Radiation therapy: it uses high-energy waves, such as X-rays that help damage and destroy tumor cells. This makes the tumors shrink or even disappear. This treatment can only be used if the cancer is in a low stage like 1 or 2, because if it is on a higher stage like 3 or 4 it won’t work.
Chemotherapy: it is the use of anti-cancer medicines (drugs) to treat cancer. Chemotherapy kills cancer cells, but it also has some temporary side effects, like hair loss. This is constantly a cause of sadness to someone with cancer. Even though it will grow back, it makes ill people really sad.

After all these treatments the doctor will do tests to see if the cancer is still there. If there are no signs of cancer, then the patient is cancer free. The doctors will keep track of your health in case cancer comes back. With time, you will eventually leave cancer behind. These days doctors are able to cure most of the cases.

Cancer survivorship
The concept of cancer survivorship is focused on the general health and life of a person with cancer, both during and after treatment, until the end of life. Since cancer can cause trauma or sadness to you and your family, friends, relatives etc.
