WeVideo is a cloud based video editing tool that can be used to create videos, podcasts and more. It includes a vast array of video clips, images, music and sound effects that can be used in your projects. It also includes the option to add green screen effects, filters and much more.

WeVideo Classroom allows you to create video and audio projects for school assignments.

This book will provide you with an overview of WeVideo Classroom and the editing tools available. Be creative and have fun!

Please obtain a link from your school librarian to join the Smithtown School District WeVideo account. The link will give you access to the full version of WeVideo and will allow you to participate in your teachers' classes.

Join Your Class

You will need a code from your teacher or librarian to join your class.

Click Join Class to enter your teacher's class.

Enter the code provided by your teacher and click Join.

Once you join a class, you will see any assigned projects.

Timeline

There are three main areas on your editing screen:

* Project Media - This is where any media you added to your project will appear.

* Preview - This is where you can preview media and your video in progress.

* Timeline - This is where you will add your media to create your video.
The timeline has a variety of tools including:

Track - to add a new video or audio track

Undo - to undo your last move

Redo - to redo your last undo

Split - to split a media clip

Levels - to change volume and opacity

Edit - to make changes to a media clip

Filters - to add filters to a clip

Delete - to delete a clip

* Close and Turn In - to close or turn in your project

Adding Media

WeVideo gives you several options for adding media. The main options are:
~ Stock media - choose from WeVideo's library of video, image and audio clips.
~ Computer - upload media that already lives on your complter.
~ Google Drive - add media directly from your Google Drive.
Imported media will appear in your Project Media section and can be dragged down into your timeline.

Adding Stock Media
When adding stock videos, hover your mouse over the clip to preview it. Select any media you want to add by clicking on each. These will appear in your project media and can then be dragged onto your timeline.
