Christopher Columbus
Christopher Columbus reached America (on the Bahaamas iland) in 1492
The English founded their first permanent settelment in 1607 in Jamestown, Virginia wich is namend after King James 1. and Elisabeth 1. (the vergin Queen, because the had no childs)
He was born in Italy (*1451) and died in Spain (+ 1506)
1492 Columbus locate America the first time.
He saild with three ships (Ninja, Santa Maria&Pinta) to the bahamas
His idea was, to find a better way to india across the sea. He landed in America and thoght his whole life, that he reached India.
The 4th of July
On the 4th of July 1776 the 13 British colonies wanted to be indepented from their mother country.
They didn't like how they were treated so they did the Revolutionary War against Britain.

They won the war with French help and under General George Washington.
He later became the first president of the US.
Ellis Island
Most immigrations camy by ship from Europe to the immigration center at Ellis Island
It opened in 1892 and closed 64 years after.
