Okay, so if you don't know Icarus, he was a man that went to jail. His dad was very sad so his dad made a set of wings for Icarus to break out of jail so Icarus got out of jail. But his dad said not to fly too close to the sun but Icarus did not listen so he went too close to the sun and his wings melted.

In 1783, two French brothers named Joseph Michel and Jacques Étienne Montgolfier designed the first hot air balloon, using silk and paper. They understood that hot air rises, so they lit a small, controlled fire inside the balloon to make it ascend. As the balloon rose higher, it hit cooler air, which made it descend. the brothers realised that the balloon could only fly at low altitude
