The children in 3rd were learning all about flight, so they came up with these informative and creatively designed books to spread their knowledge!

Amelia Earhart was born in the USA in 1897. She learned to fly an aeroplane when she was in her 20s

Amelia and navigator Fred Noonan took off from Miami, Florida, on June 1 1937. Amelia completed about 22,000 miles (35,400km) of her trip. She had about 7,000 miles 11,300km to go.

She married George Putnam, he was her publisher. He supported her career. They were partners and friends.

Amelia Earhart is a woman that was the first to travel across the Atlantic Ocean.
