A new book

The children in 3rd were learning all about flight, so they came up with these informative and creatively designed books to spread their knowledge!

Icarus and Daedalus lived long ago in Ancient Greece. Daedalus was put in jail for helping the King's wife. Icarus was imprisoned as well. 

His father made a set of wings, they're made from feathers and wax. His father told him not to go too close to the sun or to go too close to the water.

Icarus and his father escaped from the island of Crete. While flying, Icarus felt like a god and flew too close to the sun. The wax melted and he fell to his death.

He is most well known for painting the Mona Lisa which is situated in the Louvre in Paris.

Leonardo Da Vinci was a famous painter and inventor. He was one of the first to invent a flying machine called the Ornithopter. 

Leonardo obviously had an amazing mind but believe it or not he never went to school!
