Aeroplanes

Aerpolanes are machines that fly.

Aeroplanes have engines. Most big aeroplanes have jet engines. Most smaller aeroplanes have propeller engines. The wings make it move up and down, left and right. When it's time to land, the aeroplane puts down its wheels and lands on the runway at the airport. There are many different types of aeroplanes. Some planes can land on water. Some planes can land on ships.

Aeroplanes work by balancing physics forces. Four forces affect an aeroplane. They are thrust, drag, lift and gravity. An aeroplane is designed to keep these forces in balance.

The Wright brothers were the first to make and fly an aeroplane.

Airbus has performed a first A380 flight powered by 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF).

Airbus' A380 test aircraft MSN 1 took off from Blagnac Airport, Toulous, France at 08h43 on Friday 25 March 2022. The flight lasted about three hours, operating one Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine on 100% SAF.
