A True Hero

Then one day at the playground she encountered some older kids. One of them walked up to her and sweetly remarked, “I really love your cape.” “Thank you so much,” Adriana exclaimed. “I wear it because I want to be a superhero when I grow up!” The older kids burst out laughing! “Silly little elephant,” the one in the large purple jacket giggled. “Superheroes aren’t real!” “Didn’t you know that already?” the other one sneered. Adriana gaped, then her eyes started to well up. Then she ran home crying.

HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHAHAHA HAHAHAHA

    When Adriana got home she ran straight to her room. When she got there she caught her breath, then angrily yanked the cape off of her neck and then flung it on her bedroom floor

Then she flopped down on her bed and cried some more. While she was crying a fleeting thought came to her. What if the older kids were right, she thought, I’ve never even seen a superhero in real life, even the ones that can’t turn invisible.

&nbsp;Adriana scooped up Pablo and ran home with him as quickly as she could!

    A couple of days later, Adriana went to play with her friend, Pablo. They rode on their beautiful, bright blue bikes. It was all so peaceful but then a huge CRASH and CRACK filled the forest they were riding in. Pablo then yelled, “Oh no Adriana, I think I broke my leg!”

The next day after much painful waiting, Adriana went over to Pablo’s house. When she saw Pablo he had his leg in a cast. Pablo looked at Adriana and exclaimed, “ Thank you so much for saving my life, Adriana. You are my hero!” They played board games for the next hour, and then Adriana went home, still thinking about what Pablo said.

Superheroes are real, Adriana realized, just maybe not in the way I expected! Adriana quickly pulled her cape back on and vowed to always help people in need and to be the best superhero ever!
