The Rat and The Old Man

The rat ordered the old man to wake up. The rat yells, "Tell me why you don’t seem upset in the slightest way?”

“I'm not upset, because I know you are upset about yourself, not me,” the old man said while continuing to speak. “To make you feel better about yourself, you choose to pick on me,” The old man stated.&nbsp;

Angrily, the rat named off a whole list of smelly things the old man has done.

Thanks for reading my book!! I came up with this book during class while writing musings. If you don't know what musings are they are like prompts that help you get your mind off of things. The mussing's was, "write a conversation between 2 characters" I was really stuck on what to write about, until I saw the book Owen. That's when it hit me. I started writing a conversation between a rat and and old elderly man who only wears Christmas pajamas. When I finished, I realized that this would be a great children's book. I immediately scraped my old children's book (if you want to know what it was about it was that Barbie movie were the princess and rock-star switched places except they were chick-monks) and went with this idea. I hope you enjoyed my story!! Also I love Christmas, can you tell?

The man said with forgiveness, “It’s alright, let's be friends”. For the rest of the old man’s life, they were friends. They ate dried ramen together with no chicken powder, they wore dirty socks together, and the rat even grew a crusty beard!&nbsp; They were smelly together.&nbsp; :

A few years ago, an old man was watching the news while gobbling down dried raman with no chicken powder. Suddenly, a small rat crawled up onto the table right next to the old man.

Mountain Dew

The rat realized all of this is true. He crawled away regretfully, because he said so many awful words to the old man. Then, the rat suddenly turned around and nicely said, “I am sorry old man”.

&nbsp;“My gosh! You sure are a smelly old man!” the rat gagged.&nbsp; Shocked that the rat could speak and offended, the old man replied, “If anyone is smelling it’s you!”

The rat added, “And at least I don’t have a very crusty beard that I never shave!”&nbsp;

“...I also haven’t ever worn socks for 3 weeks in a row, I actually have never even worn socks!” the rat continued.&nbsp;

“At least I haven't eaten raman dry without the chicken powder…” the rat insulted.

After a few hours, the rat questioned the old man, “Oh, and I don’t… are you even listening to me?”&nbsp; The old man casually slept in his comfortable chair.
