Cricket Pearl

At last, Cricket and Pearl made it all the way back to the great big woods. Mother and Father questioned them, "Oh dears where have you two been? You poor children lost in the woods." Cricket and Pearl just looked at each other and grinned!

Pearl searched every where for Cricket. She searched in backyards, malls, hotels, and even some houses. The man that stole Cricket wanted to give all the animals to the zoo. If Pearl had not found Cricket soon, Cricket and Pearl would never see each other again.

This book is dedicated to the children at Head Start.

One bright sunny day they went outside to play hide and seek. Cricket questioned, "Can I hide first?" Pearl answered, "Of course you can!" So Cricket went to hide in a tree. He knew Pearl would never find him. Twenty seconds later, Cricket jumped in shock because Pearl had found him!

      Everyday Cricket and Pearl would go play together. Sometimes they would play inside and other times they would play outside. Happily, Cricket and Pearl loved playing in the woods together.

Cricket, the snake, lived with his mother and father in a little house in the great big woods. Pearl, the blue jay, lived right above his little house in a big nest with her family.

Pearl carefully and quietly picked the lock so Cricket could get out. All the other animals were begging to let them out. Pearl whispered, "Well, ok fine, but you have to be quiet." All the other animals nodded their heads. So as quiet as could be, all the animals snuck out. Once they were all out they cheered, "Yay!"

      Another crisp sunny day, Cricket and Pearl decided to go to the big city! Exhausted after slithering and flying, Cricket and Pearl finally got to the big city. They were chasing each other down an alley and suddenly Cricket and Pearl were snatched by some man with a black hoody on. Pearl was fast enough to fly away but Cricket sadly was not. Immediately, Pearl went back to look for Cricket but he wasn't there.

I was inspired by this book from the children's book, Bill and Pete. Thanks to Ella, Elyana, and Luna I would have never thought of a great title or thought of any ideas for the book.

Looking around, Pearl finally found him on the outskirts of the city! He was in a mans backyard that was gated in with all sorts of other animals. Brainstorming, Pearl thought of ideas to get him out without the man in the house seeing her.
