&nbsp;“Second of all, the best thing we can do is apologize and pay for the jelly beans. It’s ok Stella. It’s not worth crying over. I just want you to learn your lesson for next time,” her mom calmly said and she hugged Stella.&nbsp; Later that day, Stella and her mom went to the candy store and she apologized for the mishap and paid the 4 dollars 46 cents for the jellybeans, and promised she would never steal again.

“I stole some jelly beans, &nbsp;it was really bad, but they were really sweet, Now I’m going to make my room clean, And when I’m done I’m going to go down stairs and eat,” Stella sang. It’s time to tell her, I can’t stall any longer, Stella thought. Nervously, Stella crept into the hallway and snuck all the way downstairs to the kitchen where her mom sat at the counter working on her laptop. “Hey Mommy. Listen I did something really very bad,” She started, aching with anxiety.

“Well, I don’t want to run away,” Stella responded, “I guess I’ll tell my mom. But, I’m going to get in SO much trouble, I'm grounded for life!” Stella cried, on the brink of tears again. *Ring Ring Ring*&nbsp; “There’s the recess bell we have to go back inside. Thank y’all so much for your help,” Stella said, hugging them. &nbsp;“No problem Stella,” they said. Worrying all the way home, Stella nervously ate her carrots. When Stella got back to her room she was bored, so she decided to make a song.&nbsp;

They started, “Maybe you’ll go to jail. Or maybe you’ll have to clean the candy maker’s house for a month. Or maybe you’ll be sent away to boarding school. Or maybe you’ll have to help make candy for a year,” Poppy said.

The next day at school Stella was playing at recess with her friends Poppy and Ava. Embarrassed, she broke the news to her friends. By this point, Stella was whispering, “I stole,” she whispered. They gasped. “What did you steal?” Ava asked. “I stole jellybeans from a candy store,” Stella said, embarrassed. “Oh my gosh. I wonder what will happen to you,” Poppy responded.

&nbsp; “What is it sweetheart?” her mom responded.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;“You know when we went to the candy store to buy Abby’s lollipop and I asked you for the jellybeans?” “Yes,” her mom replied. "Well, I REALLY wanted them, so I maybe kinda sorta possibly stole them. I’m really really really really reeeeeeeeeeeeally sorry!!” Stella cried as tears streamed down her face like a waterfall. "You did? First of all, that is not an okay thing to do. Lying is the worst thing to do, because it breaks trust, and the next time you tell the truth, people don’t believe you,” her mom said lightly.&nbsp;

“Maybe you’ll have to eat smelly cheese. Or go swimming with sharks. Or drink rotten milk. Maybe, they’ll take your room, or all your money and toys,” Ava said. “I only have 4 dollars and 46 cents,” Stella said, worried. “Fair point,'' she said. “What should I do, you guys?” Stella cried, in tears by now. “I only have two ideas; tell your mom. Or run away,” Poppy said with sympathy.&nbsp;

I mean….You’ll probably have a punishment of some sort

“Oh no! You're right! What will happen to me?” Stella wondered. &nbsp;Stella and her friends began to imagine...

          Stashing the jelly beans quickly in her pocket, Stella quietly walked back over to the cash register.

&nbsp;     &nbsp;It was a Wednesday afternoon, in a small town in Rabbitville and Stella the bunny was in a candy shop with her mom. Stella walked up and down the aisles, looking at all the delicious sweet treats.

Can I PLEASE have these jelly beans? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?!

     Then, she saw it. Her very favorite type of candy ever. She scooped it up and raced through the aisles to her mom

      As they were walking out of the candy store, Stella slowly ripped open the bag and ate a couple of cherry jelly beans. The jellybeans were SO good, but she knew she shouldn't have stolen. It was pouring outside so she accidentally dropped a few on the ground.

No dear, I’m sorry. It will ruin your appetite for dinner

     Stella dragged herself back to the aisle and put the jellybeans back. She quickly realized how badly she wanted the jellybeans.
