Ollie was a winner and she NEVER lost. Well, not until that fateful day.&nbsp;

I’m such a winner, I’ll eat you for dinner. One time, two times, three, I could even beat a tree!

Ollie was jumping, and skipping, and twirling around on the playground, and singing.

Avery Grace was born and raised in Nashville, TN and lives with her parents, sister, dog, and cat. She absolutely loves to read and write. She has tried writing stuff before but she usually just stops. She also loves to draw and does it a lot which was helpful with doing the drawing in this book. Her computer hates her though so drawing on it was difficult. Thank you so much for reading her book!

“You’re on,” challenged Ollie. BRIIIIING rang the bell for the end of recess. “Tomorrow at recess then,” stated Carol. “Deal,”&nbsp;agreed Ollie.

“RECESS!!! YES!! Hey Ollie are you ready for the most epic hide and seek game ever? Do you think you are going to win? Carol is really good at finding people,” rambled Ellie.&nbsp; “Of course I am going to win. I always win.” Skipping onto the playground, Ollie started to chant.

“Ollie! Why haven’t you been at school these last two days?” Sally questioned while running up to her.&nbsp;

“Yeah, why?” Mary and Ellie demanded as they came to a stop in front of Ollie along with Sally.

“We missed you,” Ellie spoke softly.&nbsp;

“I thought y’all wouldn’t want to be friends with me anymore,” Ollie replied while looking at the ground and scuffing her foot on it.

“Why would you think that?” wondered Mary. “Because, I lost hide and seek. I’ve never lost before," Ollie replied gloomily.

CRAAAACK groaned the tree branch beneath Ollie. “Oh no!” she thought.&nbsp;

Suddenly Carols face poked out from the bottom of the tree. Carol looked right at Ollie and grinned. “Found you!” she exclaimed.&nbsp;

“Noooooooo!” Ollie screeched as she climbed down from the tree.&nbsp;

“Well then, if you could beat a tree then you can try to beat me,” snaps Carol.&nbsp; “Oh I can totally beat you E-A-S-I-L-Y,” Ollie replied.&nbsp;&nbsp; “Ok then. I challenge you to a game of hide and seek,” Carol declared.&nbsp;

“I told you that I would get you out,” Carol taunted to Ollie.

All Ollie did was reply with a look of dread on her face and think sorrowfully, “I am so ruined.”

The next day Ollie didn’t come to school. 

“What’s the point in going anyway? Nobody is gonna want to be my friend anymore. All because of Carol and the fact that she just HAD to win,” she thought sadly. Ollie just lied on her bed and looked up at the ceiling sadly.

“Of course we are still going to be friends with you! You winning doesn’t matter to us,” explained Sally.

“Really?” Ollie questioned. “Of course! We’re your best friends. We could never leave you,” Ellie declared.&nbsp;

“Thank you so much guys,” Ollie said as they shared a great big hug.

“So,” Mary said, “want to play hide and seek?”&nbsp; “Yes,” Ollie answered with a big smile.

“I have found the perfect spot! Carol is never gonna find me,” thought Ollie.

Ollie was hiding way up high in a tree. She was so high up she couldn’t even see the ground.&nbsp; “Darn it!” shouted Sally, one of Ollie’s best friends, from around the corner.

“Oh no! Carol is so close. I better not make any noise and reveal myself,” thought Ollie.

my younger sister, Abigail, who is one of the most dramatic people I know, and the children at Head Start.

“Ollie you need to come out of your room, you can’t just stay in there,” said Mom. “Yes I can! And I will!” replied Ollie.&nbsp; “Well, you should at least go for a walk in the park or something and get some fresh air if you are going to refuse to go to school,” Mom stated from the outside of Ollie’s door then walked away.&nbsp; “Well… it wouldn’t hurt to take a walk in the park,” Ollie reasoned with herself.

“I wonder what people will think of me if I go back to school? Will anyone want to be my friend anymore? I should ask Mom if I can be homeschooled,” pondered Ollie.&nbsp;

Ollie was just walking around the park in circles when she heard someone shout at her.&nbsp;

&nbsp;“Ready to lose?” asks Carol.&nbsp; “You mean win right?” retorted Ollie sassily.

Ready? 1… 2… 3… Ready or not here I come!

All of Ollie’s friends standing on the basketball court were shocked to see that Carol had found Ollie. Ollie had never been found before and every time at the end of a game she would only come out of hiding once the game was over.&nbsp;

“I’m ruined,” Ollie exclaimed.&nbsp;

“No you’re not. You were the last one found, so technically you still won,” Mary tried to reason with her.&nbsp;
