Bella and Randall's (Not So) Last Goodbye

Bella knocked on the door and a lady answered it. "Hello dear! I'm Rebecca Rabbit, Randall's mom. Are you one of Randall's friends?" Bella nodded and asked, "Have you seen Randall? I'm Bella Bunny. We go to the beach every single day, but Randall wasn't there!" Rebecca Rabbit looked sad. "Our family is moving today. I'm sorry, but Randall won't be able to make it." Bella was mad. She rode her bike all the way home.

One sunny day, Bella got up and rode her bike to the beach as usual.

Confused, Bella rode her bike down the street the way Randall always went. She stopped at a brick house with a carrot hanging on the door.

"I have a special idea, Randall. You won't have to be sad about moving anymore," Bella remarked. Randall lit up. "What is it? What is it?" Randall begged. "Please tell me!" Bella smiled, handed Randall the bag of cookies, and exclaimed...

When Bella got home, she stomped to her room. Grandma Beatrice knocked on the door and offered Bella her special cookies. "What happened? Why aren't you at the beach with Randall?" she asked. Bella crossed her arms. She was so mad, she was pretty sure steam was coming out of her ears. "He's moving away." Bella took a cookie and broke it in half. Grandma Beatrice smiled at her. "Just because he's moving away doesn't mean you can't be friends anymore!" She whispered something in Bella's ear.

Every day, Randall and Bella met at the beach to play in the sand,

Every day, they would wave goodbye to each other and ride their bikes back home for dinner.

Bella saw a rabbit playing all by himself in the sand. Bella hopped over to him. "Hello," she said cheerily. "My name is Bella Bunny. Would you like to play with me?" The rabbit looked up at her and smiled. "I would! My name is Randall Rabbit." Bella handed Randall one of her grandma's special cookies. He ate it all up excitedly. "Do you want to make a sand castle?" he questioned, holding up a red plastic bucket and a purple plastic shovel. Bella clapped her hands. "Yes!" she agreed.

One day, Bella Bunny went to the beach. Like always, she played in the sand,

and ate yummy cookies. By the time lunch came around, Bella was so hungry, she could eat a cow! Bella's grandma, Beatrice Bunny, went to get them tacos, while Bella stayed behind to play.

Bella peddled back to Randall's house, a bag of Grandma Beatrice's cookies in the basket. She ran up the front steps to Randall's house, side-stepping all of the moving helpers carrying couches and lamps. Randall answered the door.

"Hi, Bella," Randall muttered. He looked upset. "What's wrong?" Bella wondered aloud. "I don't want to move! I'll miss the beach, when we get to play in the sand, swim in the sea, and eat yummy cookies." Bella nodded her head.

Carrie enjoyed writing this book and hopes you liked it! Randall and Bella's Not-So Last Goodbye is her first children's book. Carrie loves reading and writing and hopes to make more stories in the future!
