It was a cold and rainy day like any other. Miya and her mom were on their way back from Damville's new park. As Miya's mom was listening to the radio, Miya looked out the window to see what she had only ever dreamed of.
"Pull over mom!"
Miya exclaimed.
Miya slowly got out of the car to get a better look at the animal. "Miya" mom said "What's that out there?" Mom couldn't see because she was in the drivers seat.
"It's a dog I think" Miya said. She was nearly blinded by the colors. Miya helped her mom out of the car so she could see it for herself. The dog was a small thing that was full of color and as happy as can be! No one Miya had ever knew had seen color, come to think of it, on one in the whole world had. And not even the smartest people knew what happiness truly felt like.
Miya decided to name the dog lucky, because she felt so lucky when she found him.
Miya held the dog in her arms as she got in the car and her mom drove off. She spotted her favorite fluffy gray towel and wrapped it around Lucky. He was so overjoyed by this small act of kindness that he expressed by licking Miya all over her face!
Miya got out of the car and brought the dog up to her room the dog could not stop sniffing around and wagging it's tail. "No one is this happy when coming to my house" Miya said softly. Slowly the dog made Miya happy, and Miya felt light and airy, like she could touch the sky! Lucky was barking at Miya’s shirt; its light gray shade soon became a beautiful blue color!
The rest of her outfit was so bright, filled
with oranges, yellows, even Lucky had
never seen colors so beautiful.

Miya went to see mom and show her the many colors on herself. Mom was in shock and then pleaded with Miya to help her get those many colors. So, Miya simply went to her garden and picked her mom some flowers. As Miya touched each plant, it turned a beautiful shade of red, green or pink. Miya put water in a vase then she placed the flowers inside as well.
