To my parents: The most loving people I've ever known and the people who got me eat my fruits.

“Ow!!” The cake screeched.&nbsp; “That must have really hurt!” the cookie said. “Why did you even want to have this fight?” &nbsp;The veggies and the fruits looked at each other. “We were just jealous that Abigail only likes to eat you guys and not us.”&nbsp;

The Carrot then said "We need to show them who is the better food!”

All the fruits and veggies looked at each other with shame on their faces. “We’re so sorry!” the Carrot said.&nbsp; “No problem,” the Cake replied. Then everyone got into a big group hug.&nbsp;

The next day Abigail was feeling hungry again. Instead of grabbing a piece of candy like usual, she grabbed a piece of celery and said, “I love celery!”&nbsp;

“Really?” the Ice Cream asked. “We’re jealous that you’re so healthy and we’re so unhealthy!” the cookie added. &nbsp;“We would do anything to be like you,” the Cake said.&nbsp;

The fruits decided to tell the desserts that they would fight to see who was the better food. The desserts agreed to this crazy idea. They&nbsp;began to start fighting.&nbsp;

One day, eight year old Abigail was very hungry. She decided to go&nbsp;downstairs into the kitchen, open the freezer and take a candybar. She would always take something with sugar in it, but she would never take any fruit or veggies.

Helen (as an 8 year old) loved desserts and not as much fruits and veggies. Especially&nbsp;fruits. So when her language arts teacher told everyone about the "Write A Children's Book" assignment, Helen knew immediately she would talk about food. Helen has loved working on writing her first children's book, and this assignment had inspired her to write more stories.
