As Robin sat in his nest waiting for his mom to come back with a worm for dinner, he sat there watching Bat fly around in the night sky. FWAP FWAP! Robin heard Bat flying in the sky.
“I want to fly!” Robin chanted.
“You can’t fly, Robin,” Robin’s sister Rosie told him as she did every night Robin said this.
“Yeah, Robin, you already know that you will never be able to fly!” His older brother Ryder stated.
When Mom finally came back with dinner Robin, being the youngest had to  wait to eat his share of dinner, looked up at the sky and whispered to himself in a courageous voice,
“I will fly Ryder and Rosie, you just wait!”
As soon as Robin whispered this piece of advice his mother called out, “Robin, time to eat!”
And with that Robin hopped over to his mother and gobbled up his worm.

The text seems to be too small on this page. One solution would be to add another page and put some text on this page and some on the next page with the illustration.
The next morning Robin woke to the scream of Rosie’s voice, “Ahhh! Get off me! Get him off me!”
“What’s wrong, Rosie?” Robin’s mother asked in a soothing tone.
“What’s wrong? You're asking me what’s wrong? Isn’t it obvious? There’s a bat sleeping on me!”
Robin turned his head, and sure enough there was a bat sleeping on Rosie. Robin took a closer look and realized that the bat was not just a bat, for it was Bat the bat that he had watched the previous night flying up in the sky. As soon as Robin realized who this bat was, Bat woke up and exclaimed, “Oh, hello, I’m terribly sorry for intruding into your humble abode.
“What’s an abode?” Robin asked,
“Robin, remember your manners don’t interrupt!” Mom scolded.
“As I was saying, last night I went to sleep on this tree. I must have fallen off the tree while I was sleeping. Oh well, ta ta!”
And with that Bat flew off into the morning sky. Robin was still in awe that Bat had slept in their nest and called the nest a humble abode, whatever that meant. Robin decided after eating his breakfast that he was going to go visit Bat and ask him how to fly. Right after lunch, Robin packed a sack full of worms, a flower, and his favorite leaf. Robin then grabbed his sack and set off towards Rabbit’s house to ask him where Bat lived.
Ten minutes later Robin had reached Rabbit’s burrow and was about to call out for Rabbit when she appeared out of a hole in the ground  and said, “Well hello Robin! What can I do for you?”
“Hi, Rabbit! I was wondering if you could tell me where Bat lives.” Robin chirped.
“Bat? Oh, I know where he lives, just take two lefts, one right and walk straight for eight steps. Have a nice day!” Answered Rabbit.
“Thank you!” Robin replied.
And with that Robin set off towards Bat’s house. PAT, SQUELCH, PAT, SQUELCH. Robin's steps made a steady rhythm on the ground as he walked to Bat’s house. Robin had already made two lefts before he forgot what to do next. Robin decided to go left once more and then go right. But as soon as Robin made that left turn he realized that he was in the wrong place.
Robin watched in horror as Snake slithered towards him, “Hello frienddd. Why are you here and not at hooome?” Snake sneered.
As soon as Snake said this he lunged at Robin and struck him on his side pulling his feathers away from him. Robin squirmed and wiggled but Snake only grabbed hold of his other side and the same thing happened, his feathers bent away. Robin finally managed to hop free of Snakes grip and while he was desperately hopping away he took off flying, “Ahhhh! I’m flying!” Robin hollered.
Robin ended up flying straight to his nest where he realized that flying was terrible and scary. When Robin saw his Mom and siblings they all cried out, “Wow! I want to fly too!”
And from that day on all birds went to Snake to get wings.
But Robin never liked flying and never tried to fly again.
And that’s why birds fly!
