E.E. Cummings was a poet born in Cambridge, Massachusetts on October 4th, in 1894. The E.E. in his name stands for Edward Estlin.  He had traditional New England values like pride and hard work.   E.E. went to Harvard College. During WWI, he was an ambulance driver in France.  As a poet, E.E. used lower-cased letters.  He wrote over 2,900 poems. One of his most famous poems was called “pity this busy monster”. He also liked to paint. E.E. Cummings died on September 3rd, 1962.
