<br/>Eric Carle is the author and illustrator of the famous book THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR which has sold over 50 million copies!&nbsp; It has been published in 66 languages! He is famous for his brightly colored picture books.&nbsp; He wrote over 70 books and his first book was 1,2,3 TO THE ZOO.&nbsp; He has sold over $152 million worth of books. When he was a boy his family moved to Germany but after he graduated art school he moved back to New York City and became a graphic designer.&nbsp; A friend of his was a writer and got him to work on a book together.&nbsp; That book was BROWN BEAR, BROWN BEAR WHAT DO YOU SEE?&nbsp; Many years later, Eric and his wife Bobbie opened the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art in Amherst, Massachusetts.&nbsp; He died in 2021.<br/><br/>
