John F Kennedy's mom, Rose, and his father, Joseph, brought John into the world on May 29, 1917, along with 8 more kids! They were named Joe Jr, JOHN, Rosemary, Kathleen, Eunice, Patricia, Robert, Jean, and Ted. Later, he was the 35th president of the USA but we will get to that later...
chapter 1: beginnings
john went to private schools and he had a lot of friends. in high school he and his friends got into a lot of mischief they called john and his friends "bad apples"
In 1936, John entered Harvard and graduated in 1940. On Sept. 1, 1939, the German army invaded Poland. Two days later, France and England declared WAR on Germany and you know then WW2 happened.
What was john doing? He was visiting his dad in Europe, and writing a book. He wrote a number of books but he is best known for "Profiles in Courage" that earned him a prize.

John also had the nickname ''Jack".

A bit later in 1941, John joined the navy and boarded the PT 109. Less than 3 months later, early in the morning of Dec. 7, 1941, US ships, planes and soldiers were attacked by Japanese BOMBERS. The US was at war. John commanded a small navy boat PT 109 but in Aug. 1943... BOOM BANG! His boat was CUT IN HALF! And guess what, John was such a nice man. He held on to an injured crew member and swam 5 hours until they got to shore. John was given a navy medal for his bravery.

In 1946, John ran for a seat in the US House of Representatives. His whole family helped out. He won the vote easily. He was also re-elected in 1948 and again in 1950. In 1952, John ran for the US Senate. The family helped as always. John won in a close election.
Senator John f Kennedy was a war hero and a bestselling author and with all off that he was young rich and handsome. People loved how he talked.
But also in 1951, John met Jacqueline, a pretty smart young woman from a wealthy family. Then they started dating. Then, she went to England for her newspaper job. When she came back, JFK and Jacqueline had a wedding and became engaged on Sept. 12, 1953 and had 2 kids.
