Early life
Jackie Robinson was born in January 31,1919.
Jackie was born into a poor family in Cairo,Georgia.
Jackie was a played football,basketball, and was on the track team.
The Dodgers
When Jackie dropped out of college in 1941, he wanted to start baseball, but there were no major league teams that had open hands for a black man in the 1940's yet so he decided to make them notice him. Jackie was able to get into the team, but was discriminated and harassed by his teammates.
Retirement
Jackie Robinson retired in 1941. When he retired, he knew just what to do.
Jackie decided to make motivational speeches in front of thousands of people under the black culture. He made speeches with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He made speeches for segregation to end, and Jackie really put his heart into his speeches.
Final moments
Jackie Robinson Died in October 24,1972. He died from the tragedy that is a heart attack. He wanted all men, children, and women to be treated equal. If you were him what would change or do besides baseball? The world needs heroes like Jackie Robinson
Rewards
Jackie Robinson was chosen to throw the first pitch at the 1972 World Series. He won the NCAACP's famous award, the Spingarn Medal.
