“Brrrr…. Nana it’s cold, why do we have to go out here today?”
“Alice, Alice, Alice my sweet granddaughter it’s your birthday we’re simply celebrating!”
In a forest, IN DECEMBER! “Alice, what’s happened to that sweet little girl
inside of you?” I AM TOO OLD FOR THIS STUPID TRADITION! I AM NOT 7 ANYMORE!"

Oh, and the forest is NOT alive! Then how did it talk to me…it, it, it must
have been a hallucination!" “I don’t think so, but you can believe that. Follow
your mother,” mumbled her Nan. "My mum, YES PLEASE TELL ME ABOUT HER! It’s my birthday after all!"

“So now you’re playing the birthday card, but I do suppose, it is your birthday so I might explain a little bit. Under the tree please.”

“Your mother was my little angel. She wasn’t much of a lady as she was too adventurous but still wouldn’t BELIEVE in anything without proof, she focused too much on science”. “Ughhhhh, I HATE science” interrupted Alice.

Anyway, she thought that I was crazy, so she left her trust in science expecting it to raise her?! Then she jetted off to Morocco to do MORE science*, and I haven’t
seen her since**. AWKWARD SILENCE

“Now, we’d better want to start heading home, it's rather chilly, but make sure to listen out for the forest and remember it talked to me on this date”. (* How much science does this gal need?! **That’s deep)

2,348 miles away in Morocco 13/12/22

“Mama why do we need to pack our bags?” asked Sara. “We are going on holiday, to visit Nana Gröndal.”
"But why, how long will we be there for?"

"It depends if they want us there, I sent them a letter last week it should be there soon. If THEY want us there? I mean if SHE wants us to."

Back in Norway

"Mmm, Nana you make the best hot chocolate!" "Thanks, it can be your birthday treat! But wait till you taste your cake!"

Ding! Dong!
"Oh, that must be the post. I’ll grab it. It’s probably a card for me anyways. Oh, it’s addressed to you Nana!" she shouts.

"But Nana never gets letters as everyone thinks she is crazy; it must be important…... LET'S READ IT!!!!"

The Letter

“After all those years, that I haven’t been talking to her
she replies, today, on the 16th of December 2022, this is the day she replies”, sobbed Nana.

"WAIT! Oh no…..."

On the morning of 14/12/22

Beep! BEEP!! BEEP!!!
"Oh no!" cried Abagail, "the taxi to the airport is here. We are LATE!!!"
Ten minutes later the two were ready and luckily, they just about made the flight.

“Phew, sighed Sara, we made it!” When they arrived in Norway, they traveled across the country till they saw the trees of the forest. “I remember this place as if it was yesterday!” "Is this the place?" "It sure is!"

"WHAT?! It is so…. AMAZING! AN ADVENTURE! Let's goooooo!!!"

Oh no! Norway 16/12/22

"Oh no!" cried Alice. "They were supposed to be here two days ago!"
"Alice…GRAB ALL YOUR SNOW GEAR WE HAVE TO GO TO THE FOREST!!!" "But there’s a snowstorm!" "THIS IS MORE IMPORTANT!!!"

At this point, Alice was starting to get worried not just about her mum, but also about her Nan. She had never got so worried. Within seconds Alice and Nana were entering the forest.

After an hour of searching in the snowy forest, the storm was getting stronger and stronger but there was still no sign of Abagail.
