Italy trip
Italy trip
Last summer, I traveled to Italy for the first time. I flew with my ex-boyfriend and friends to Venice, where we spent three days exploring the whole island. Venice is built on small islands and between them are waterways called canals. Most people travel between parts of the city by public boats, so-called vaporetti, but Venice is most famous for the gondolas that are rowed along the canals and have long been the epitome of romance. From Venice, we took a train to Parma where I went to a hairdressing course for four days, but then after the courses, we could only explore the city. Parma is a city in the northern Italian region of Emilia-Romagna known for its architecture, music, art, prosciutto, cheese, and surrounding countryside. After six days in Parma, we took another train to Cinque Terre. The Cinque Terre is a coastal area within Liguria, in the northwest of Italy. It lies in the west of La Spezia Province and comprisesed of five villages. Their names are Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. These villages are beautiful and everyone should travel there and see them. Then we went to Milan and were there for five days on a city trip. We explored the city in a hop on hop off bus, so we managed to see the whole city
in its entirety. Milan is a city in northern Italy, the capital of Lombardy, and
the second-most populous city proper in Italy after Rome.

My hairdressing hobby
My hairdressing hobby
In this writing, I am going to write about one of my hobbies. It is hairdressing.
When I was a little girl I always wanted to be a hairdresser, I was always playing with dolls that had long and beautiful hair. I often played with braiding them and making their hair beautiful and sometimes I happened to cut their hair. Some of the dolls had all kinds of haircuts by me, bald, short-haired, and some with crooked hair so long on one side and short on the other. My mom was not happy that I was cutting the hair of my dolls, but she knew right away that I was clearly very interested in hair and didn't get too worked up about it. She has always encouraged me to keep playing with hair, she helped me get into the school where I could learn hairdressing. In 2015, I started studying hairdressing at the polytechnic school in Reykjanesbær. There I spent two years in hairdressing and after that, I had to go to Reykjavík to a technical school where I could continue my studies. The hairdressing course is four years in total, three years at school and one year working. I learned a lot going into this program and I can say that I’m a new person after it. I was a very shy person and I still am, but not as much as I used to be. The hairdressing boosted my confidence, my shyness decreased and I dared to express my opinions and was able to talk to people without feeling nervous. In hairdressing, you gain so much knowledge about hair care, fashion and styles, skills, and abilities that are necessary for hairdressing. I graduated in hairdressing in 2019 and since then I have been working as a hairdresser. It's been five years today and I'm still in love with this work and what I'm doing. I recommend hairdressing one hundred percent for everyone, both women and men, it is so rewarding, to communicate with all kinds of people every day, and all day and gives you a different perspective on life. And being able to serve the people around you makes you so happy because as soon as they show how happy they are, you know you are doing good things. There is nothing better than seeing a smile on the customer after serving and pampering them. It is always better to give than to take

I decided to write about the song ,,I walk on water by Kaleo,, and explain the content and the message of the lyrics, because it is one of my favorite bands and also my favorite song. This song touches me a lot, I feel confident about myself after listening to the song and I feel like I am able to do things I can't even imagine. I think that the title of the song "I walk on water" means that you are free and strong.
I’m going to play a little snippet from the song and after that I want to explain how I thing the message of the lyrics means.
,,And life, oh, in such a hurry
Thrive as long as you can
Goodbye to all my worries
Oh 'cause I, I walk on water
…
I feel stronger, I feel stronger than I used to
Oh, my feet, don't know my feet don't touch the ground
I don't worry, I don't worry any longer,,
I think the meaning of these lyrics tells us to let go of our worries and live our life, don't be constantly worried, enjoy life while you can because you never know what can happen. Love those you care about and spend time with those who bring you happiness. Don't rush to grow up, rather enjoy being young and play. Grow and thrive.

Freestyle assignment
I was standing in front of the cave's entrance. Around the cave there were seven different signs, warning people to keep out… KEEP OUT! DANGER! BEWARE! STAY AWAY! ARE YOU CRAZY! I WARNED YOU! I WOULDN'T GO IN THERE!
I wondered what could be in there. I had a flashlight so I went into the cave. The cave was very dark and there was a disgusting smell in there like there was someone dead in the cave. I walked further into the cave and then I heard something, it sounded like someone was eating bones, so I walked towards the sound, I saw blood on the ground. Every time I walked further into the cave the sound just got louder and worse. I was so scared. I heard the sound again, I looked around me but I didn’t see anything so I walked further in the cave and then I saw it! I saw a big ugly monster. I've never seen anything like this in my life. The monster was was hideously ugly and cruel to behold,
Then I saw my friend hanging there, and it looked like he was dead, and the monster was eating him. The ugly monster was eating Ísak, one of my good friends. We were travel buddies and we traveled around the earth. I was scared that I was going to be next. I was thinking of running out but I stayed, I was frozen. I couldn't move. The monster looked at me and continued eating human bodies that were hanging there in rope around their necks. I saw a rope and I thought that was my rope. The monster got on the floor and came closer to me. He sniffed me.
I punched him in the eye and ran away. The monster followed me. I took up my C4 bomb and blew him up. It rained blood from him. The monster was lying there dying and trying to survive that horrible big wound. I ran away from the monster and the cave. I pray for the people who died because of that monster.

Show and Tell
Hello, my name is Laufey and I‘m going to tell you a story about when I traveled to America last summer.
In august 2022 I traveled to the United States of America for the first time in my life to visit my sister. She lives in America and when I went in august she lived in Nashville Tennessee but now she lives in Charlotte North Carolina. She has lived in America for I think almost 10 years and this was the first time I ever visited her. One day my sister, brother and I went to the zoo in Nashville. We saw all kinds of animals, in all kinds of colors and sizes. While we were walking in the zoo we saw flamingos. I've never seen a flamingo in my life, so this was the first time, but this time I got to see them and they were so many and so beautiful. Flamingos are one of my favorite animals, because of their pink color and how they are shaped. I learned that female flamingos are born gray or white and they take up to 3 years to reach their mature pink color. Flamingos are famous for their bright pink feathers, stilt-like legs, and S-shaped necks.
