About Me
My name is Eyvind and I'm 14 turning 15 this summer. I live in Fáskrúðsfjörður and work at Kjörbúðin as a cashier.
I'm hoping to attend VA next semester and I'm planning on studying how to become a carpenter and make furniture.
My hobbies include knitting, gardening, and drawing and I like doing things where I can use my hands.

1. Freestyle Assignment 1
For my freestyle assignment I wanted to pick up an old poem I worked on some time ago. I made it in Icelandic class a year back, I think. I haven’t completed it, yet, and I also lost half of it when moving, whooo...
Last year I tried to make a song out of it, but that didn’t really go anywhere as I couldn't find the right rhythm and notes for my poem/lyrics. When I attempted to develop a melody, I drew inspiration from songs like I Deserve to Bleed and Self Care and some Indie artists. But anyway, here it is:

Spring is when all flowers bloom,
Daisies, roses, dandelions.
I can no longer see the moon,
guess it comes with all the sun...
I wish that it would burn me down,
blister up my skin!
All that I would ever need would be that single win!
Do you like it when I paint my face in dainty ways?
I feel like a fool, a clown!
Must I really keep it on the down-low?
How shall next I display my tenacious woe?

1. Freestyle Assignment 1
I added the last two lines just now, and I’ll probably be adding more for a long time, tinkering with my art of words. I haven’t decided on a title for it but I’m trying to decide between “Burnt Flora” and “Súpa” very different, I know.
It is mostly about my body dysphoria and being too scared to come out to certain family members, or other people I know, about being trans and queer. In my first sentence, I use flowers as a congruity for femininity and spring for its “blossoming”. When talking about burning me down under the sun and making my skin blister, I mean that I want to depredate those gorgeous and oh-so-holy flowers, my feminine traits, and instead become something grotesque and unhuman, possibly liking myself more that way. My parents encourage me to use makeup and dress in ways that exaggerate my curves. It makes me feel uncomfortable and wrong. Last but not least, it’s about needing to nearly lead a double life and wanting to just promulgate myself without any feeling of dubiety.

The words I learned in this assignment are:
Tenacious: Þrálátur
Congruity: Samlíking/svörun
Depredate: Niðurlægja/eyðileggja (Depredation is more used)
Promulgate: Kynna/sýna
Dubiety: tvístígandi

I wanted to practice explaining and expressing ideas and reasons.
