Freestyle assignment 2
For this freestyle assignment, I decided to create a Bulb page on bulbapp.com of Burna Boy, an afro beats artist. I chose to dedicate this website to him because he is one of my favorite afro beats artist.

I started by inserting text about him from Wikipedia, then uploading pictures of him from Google and putting them on my page, then I downloaded an MP4 music video as well as uploaded a music video from Youtube by copying the URL. After that, I uploaded song lyrics of his onto the page and finally, I made a little voice recording and handed in a link to a website of his tour dates, etc.

Here is this website:
https://www.bulbapp.com/u/burna-boy?sharedLink=541878bc-1ad2-4220-919c-3af96d3e3773
Doing this task, I practiced my ability
to make a nice-looking and interesting website.
I learned more about my artist’s background and career.
Freestyle Assignment 4
For the last freestyle assignment, I picked a song to translate the words in the lyrics that I think are meaningful. The song I chose is called
Happier Than Ever by Billie Eilish
I chose this song because it is a great song with emotional lyrics and I can relate to it.

These are some of the parts of the lyrics I like.

When I'm away from you, I'm happier than ever - Þegar ég er í burtu frá þér, þá er ég hamingjusamari en nokkru sinni fyrr.

Do you read my interviews? - Lestu viðtölin mín?
Or do you skip my avenue? - Eða forðastu götuna mína?

You'd do the opposite of what you said you'd do - Þú myndir gera öfugt við það sem þú sagðist ætla að gera.
And I'd end up more afraid - Og ég yrði hræddari á endanum.

You clearly weren't aware that you made me miserable - Þú varst greinilega ekki meðvitaður um að þú gerðir mig vansæla.

You call me again, drunk in your Benz - Þú hringir í mig aftur, fullur í Benzanum þínum.

Freestyle Assignment 4
Driving home under the influence - Keyrandi undir áhrifum.
You scared me to death, but I'm wasting my breath - Þú dauðhræddir mig, en það er einskis virði.

I don't relate to you - Ég skil þig ekki.
'Cause I'd never treat me this shitty - Því ég myndi aldrei koma svona illa fram við mig.
You made me hate this city - Ég hata þessa borg vegna þín.

And I don't talk shit about you on the internet - Og ég tala ekki illa um þig á internetinu.
Never told anyone anything bad - Aldrei sagði neinum neitt slæmt.
'Cause that shit's embarrassing, you were my everything - Því það er vandræðalegt, þú varst mér allt.
And all that you did was make me fucking sad - Og eina sem þú gerðir var að gera mig leiða.
So don't waste the time I don't have - Svo ekki sóa tíma
sem ég hef ekki.

By doing this task, I was practicing my translating skills
and I learned how difficult it can be to translate
English in a way that makes sense in Icelandic.
Freestyle Assignment 1
For my first freestyle assignment this semester, I want to talk about a TV show I have been watching recently. Because I really enjoyed the series and learned a lot about how Juvenile centers in America can be.
It is called Girls Incarcerated and follows troubled teenage girls who are incarcerated at American Juvenile centers.
The series documents their lives behind bars and the struggles that come with it.

The charges vary from something minor like running away from home to as much as armed robberies and even murder.
Most of them come from broken homes, with absent parents or parents with drug addiction.
So they grew up without structure and rules and have a hard time following the strict rules inside the prison, causing drama and chaos among their cellmates and staff.

Unlike some other correctional facilities, these centers focus on the girls succeeding and teaching them ways to cope with their struggles outside of prison, like overcoming addiction, working through trauma, etc.
The girls don’t have to complete a sentence like regular prisons, but instead, they complete a program that will determine when they are eligible to go back home, where they try to turn their lives around, reconnect with family, go back to school and stay away from drugs, violence, etc.

I really enjoyed this series and hope there will be another season.
