Informational Writing & Scientific Drawing
The Feathered Friends Saver that the ornithologist gave to our class is a tool that can be used to mark windows to keep birds from flying into them. Each of you is going to make your very own Feathered Friends Saver by creating a realistic portrait of a local bird using your scientific drawing knowledge and some new coloring skills to create a work of art. For your writing, you will create a “Birds are …” card that teaches your reader all about birds.
Your "Feathered Friends Saver" should include:
- a realistic portrait of a local bird
- a “Birds are …” card that teaches your reader about birds
- one adjective that you think describes why we should care about birds
- two facts from your learning that you think best support the adjective
