The excitement continued with themed activities that brought the story to life. Children eagerly guided The Very Hungry Caterpillar puppet through giant cardboard fruit, reciting the line 'but he was still hungry...' straight from the story and practicing their counting skills. Another sensory activity challenged them to identify various fruits in a jar by scent, stimulating their senses and encouraging exploration.
As the story came to it's end where the caterpillar was ready to turn into a butterfly, each child unveiled their own cocoon, revealing a glowing butterfly inside. One of the story leaders enhanced the magic by wearing giant light-up butterfly wings, adding to the experience.

"Once upon a time in the light of the moon, on a leaf lived a creature, you’ll hear about soon!
On a tiny little egg, small as a raindrop,
One day a caterpillar emerged with a POP!
Now this was no regular bug, in fact, he’s pretty neat.
Cause after all, he may be small but he really liked to eat.
Oh my, oh my! Oh, so small and green,
An appetite so keen, might be the best I’ve ever seen!
Oh my, oh my, take care, my little friend,
I wonder how his feast comes to an end.
On Monday he ate an apple, so shiny red and round.
Tuesday brought two pears, there was no messing around .
Wednesday brought plums, so good that he ate three!
Can you conceive, even believe, he was still hungry!"
