One of America's oddest legends is Sleepy Hollow. It was set in the late 1700s in a Dutch settlement called Sleepy Hollow. A school teacher named Ichabod Crane had just finished teaching the kids and was riding home past the graveyard.
Ichabod was aware that a headless soldier had been buried in the graveyard. After gazing at the strange burial ground for a while, he decided to take a brief rest. As he began to wake up, he prepared to leave the graveyard. Suddenly, he heard a strange noise and immediately stopped in his tracks. strangely, he moved closer to investigate the source of the sound.
Suddenly, without warning, a headless man on a horse burst out from the ground. This strange figure, lacking a head, had a pumpkin in its place. Frightened, Ichabod immediately fled and sought shelter trying to hide from the headless man. However, to his shoke, the headless man found his hiding spot and threw his detached head directly towards Ichabod. In a horrifying twist of events, the headless man captured Ichabod and forcefully took him on his strange journey.
The next day, the townspeople discovered Ichabod's hat next to a smashed pumpkin. The townspeople were confused and asked, "Where is Ichabod?" Everyone was looking for Ichabod, but they could not find him. So, they continued with their day.
But some people were still looking for Ichabod. After a couple of days, nobody looked for him anymore and they forgot about him. Nobody really cared anymore about Ichabod. Ichabod was never found again from that day.
