"Let's stay until the school closes, shall we?" Sally, the chairperson of class 2D, asked. "Sure," Sophia, her best friend and also a committee member, nodded. Since the coming Monday would be the deadline of the board decoration competition, they stayed behind while the others had left.

As the decoration was almost completed, the night started to fall. Before leaving, Sally wanted to go to the toilet, despite not being accompanied by Sophia.
While walking to the washroom, she heard the sound of some pattering footsteps. It became louder and louder as if someone was slowly approaching her. The weird sound sent a chill down her spine. Sally rushed back to the classroom to find her friend.
"Ha! ha! How old are you? How can it be?" Sophia teased, and she decided to go with Sally.
However, Sally was still frightened. While waiting for Sally, Sophia suddenly saw a strange face from the mirror, which seemed to be smiling at her. At the same time, the door was shut with a band and the door was locked. "Arghhhhh!" Sophia exclaimed. Soon after, the door opened again. Sally and Sophia screamed and escaped immediately.
When they were running, Sally looked back and found that it was one of their classmates. She finally realized that they were pranked. "Hahaha, I finally played a trick on you! Happy Halloween!" The classmate laughed. It turned out that this was the day before Halloween, and therefore the classmates dressed as ghosts to scare them. "You scared us! Fortunately, it was not true!" Sophia and Sally were relieved.
