This book is written to promote the inclusion of individuals with disabilities. 

Amiya's Blue Pen

She took this pen with her every where. To her grandparent's house, to church, and even to school.

At school, Amiya's classmates did not understand her love for her blue pen. They would mock and taunt her saying, "You are so weird!"

The next day, Amiya went to school without her favorite pen. It was the worst day ever. She was sad the entire day. If only she had her blue pen!

Hearing what her classmates had to say made Amiya extremely sad. She thought, "Why can't I just be normal?"

When she got home, Amiya threw away her blue pen. Although it was her favorite thing in the entire world, she was sad that it made her classmates mean.

This year for her birthday, Amiya's parents gave her a blue pen. Not just any blue pen, but the <em>best </em>blue pen.

She absolutely adored this pen with every inch of her heart. Writing with this pen makes Amiya feel invincible. With this pen, she dreams of one day winning the Nobel Prize for her books.
