Step 1: in each plastic bag, put 1 ice cube

Step 2: leave one plastic bag with the ice in it on the table and do nothing to perform method 1

Step 3: dip the other plastic bag in a bowl of hot water to perform method 2

Step 4: compare which method makes the ice melt faster

Step 1: Lets do method 1. Put 1 ice cube inside the ziplock bag (I used a plastic bag because we don't have a ziplock bag).

How can you melt an ice cube in a zip lock snack bag at your desk/table the fastest?

My hypothesis is that when I put the ice cube in the boiling water it will melt faster.

Leaving the ice cube inside the ziplock and doing nothing.

Conclusion and Variables

In conclusion, putting ice in a bowl of hot water melts the ice faster because when heat is applied to the ice it comes back to water or it melts. Therefore, method 2 is faster than method 1.

The independent variable in this experiment is the bowl of hot water because the bowl of hot water made the ice melt.

The dependent variable in this experiment is the ice cube because it is the only one thats being observed and is the only one that changed. 

The constant variable in this experiment are the plastic bags and the two ice cubes. The two plastic bags were closed while doing the experiment. Both of the ice cubes were put at the same time.

When I did method 1 it took 32 minutes and 30 seconds.

After 32 minutes and 30 seconds the ice already melted

When I did method 2 it took 2 minutes and 18 seconds.
