In the iLab, we talked about silly monsters and what we’d want such a monster to do for us. To go along with the theme, we read part of the book, I Need My Monster, by Amanda Noll. It’s about a friendly monster who lived under a little boy’s bed. One day, the boy discovered his monster, Gabe, had left a note that said, “Gone Fishing! Will return in a week.” Substitute monsters tried to take his place but none were as good as Gabe!

While we read, the students drew their own silly monster and then they recorded how that monster would help them.

This is the first time the kindergarteners have used the Book Creator app and they did such a good job with their illustrating and recording. We hope you enjoy their book!
