And, here’s what was under the bed . . .

I think that there is a monster under the bed.

I think there is going to be a big dotted monster.

I think  the  kid  becomes  the  monsters  friend.

I think that there is a mouse under the bed

I think the monster snuck in  to the hole into the house 

I think that there’s a toy and a little animal stepped on it 

I think it  will be a red monster and a zombie.

Making Predictions

We read the book, “<a xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" href="https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/whats-under-the-bed-joe-fenton/1101057087">What’s Under the Bed?</a>” by Joe Fenton. Just before Fred was feeling brave enough to look under his bed, we stopped. The children were asked to predict what might be there. They illustrated, wrote (sounding out their words), and recorded their predictions. After everyone had completed their predictions, we finished the book. Then, we discussed how to use all the clues that the author and illustrator provide to help with making a more accurate guess. Enjoy their predictions!

I think a strawberry Monster is going to attack!!!!!

I think it’s either a toy of his or, just the bed creaking.

I think a nice monster is under the bed. And it is making lots of noise.
