Sloop and Bev

Deep in the jungle of Central America lives a sloth named Sloop. Everyday he lies in his tree branch and sleeps all day and all night long.

He has a friend. Her name is Beverly. Her friends call her Bev. She is a beaver. She works all day and never has time to lie around and sleep. She is hard working and busy. There aren't enough hours in the day to do all the work she wants to do. One day, she decides to visit her old friend, Sloop.

-Hello! Sloop! How are you? Bev says.
-Hi! Bev! I'm fine and well rested! Sloop answers. How are you? he asks.
-I'm fine but tired. I just finished building my new home! What are you doing? asks Beverly.
-I'm resting and relaxing ! says Sloop.
-I rarely relax! I work hard, all day! says Beverly.
-Why don't you come up on my branch and relax with me? says Sloop.
-OK Sloop, I do need a rest! says Beverly and climbs up the tree.

-Why do you always work so hard Bev? Sloop asks . "I like sleeping and resting all day! I don't want to get tired! Sloop yawns."Getting tired is so exhausting!" he mutters as he makes himself more comfortable on his branch.
All of a sudden dark clouds appear. It starts to rain. There is thunder and lightning. It's raining heavily now. The jungle is flooding! Sloop's branch is not very strong. The wind is blowing and the branch is swinging to and fro!
-Oh no! I can't swim very well! I'm going to drown! cries Sloop in despair. They both hold on tight to the branch.

Then it happens. The branch breaks and Sloop and Bev tumble and fall into the raging water. Sloop fears that this is the end, he is going to drown. Suddenly, he feels two small paws grabbing him and pulling him up! It's Beverly! She is an excellent swimmer!
-Don't fear Sloop, my friend! I will take you to the safety of my home! says Beverly "I made it strong enough to withstand all floods!
