Larry's Adventure Loading...
By Audrey Wegener and Bree WoelfelIt was a hot sunny day outside of Larry's cave in the Savannah just outside of West Africa. And the sun was so big and yellow, it seemed almost deadly. There lived a kind, warm hearted lion named Larry. Every day he would scan the perimeter of the Savannah like a hawk searching for any animals in need of help.
Even though Larry would never hurt a soul, he still had trouble making friends The reason for this was because his teeth were as sharp as knives, and Gladys the giraffe would spread millions of false rumors of times he acted mean and scared other animals for sport.
As Larry attends his first day of school, he asks the giraffe, “Good, morning, would you like to be friends?” Scared, the tree tall animal galloped away. Larry was shocked, he didn’t know what he did wrong.
He decided to give it another try, this time on a zebra. As he walked up to the zebra, she ran away, shouting, “Get away from me with your sharp teeth and dagger claws!” Not even getting a chance to say hi, salty tears flowed down his face, and he felt something he never had before, it was sorrow.
After Larry got his friend request rejected, he set out to do kind tasks every day to prove that he is truly a kind animal. The next day when Larry was at school, he did a thousand different tasks to show that he would never purposely hurt anyone. On his way to the edge of the Savannah, he saw a small speck in the distance. Peppermint spice flowed with the wind until it reached Larry’s nose.
