My favorite read aloud was hero because that book had a lot of action and was very interesting. The book is about a boy who figures out he has super powers. He has to save NYC from the bad's and he has to figure out who killed his dad. People should read this book because it keeps them on the edge of your there seats and is very good My favorite book this year was Diary of a Wimpy Kid Third Wheel By: Jeff Kinney I like this book because it was very funny and had a good plot. Its about Greg and Rowleys friendship break up when Rowley gets a girlfriend. People would enjoy it because it iv very funny.

1. I think reading is important because it is good for your social skills and with a book in your hand there's always a talking topic. Another reason reading is important is because it is good for your brain and will give a kick to your memory and imagination.

2. I grew as a reader this school year because when I was younger I hated reading and just anything to do with that word. But all I needed was a little push from someone to help me be interesed in reading. Everyone I know loves reading especially my mom and brothers who gave me great books to read from and encouraged me to read more. I was so inspired by them that I wanted to start reading.

"Fish in a Tree" By: Lynda Mullaly Hunt

This is my favorite because it is about character change and I love books like that. This is also well written and will definetly make you smile more than once. 

"Racing in the Rain" By: Garth Stein

I love this book because it is a heartfelt drama about a man and a dog. There are so many plot twists and sad moments. But, there are also many happy moments and times where you want to scream with joy! If you love dogs and love stories that are filled with plot twists and dramatic, this is a book you show read next!

Reading Is important because you can learn new things and make new Friends by doing it. You get smarter and it can be fun sometimes. You can discuss it with friends. I grew as a better reader by reading out loud to myself in first and second grade and reading by myself. When you do it you get smarter and you become a better reader. I liked this book because since I play a softball which is closely related to baseball. This story is a story that I would want to never happen to me because I love softball and if I had to sit on the bench and see other people play my position and hit in my number spot I would be pretty upset. So I love how Michael could keep his composure and not get extremely mad.

My favorite read aloud was Divergent because it was a great book and I liked it.

This was my favorite read aloud because the story was great and it was cool to learn about a girl who couldn't read and find out that she has dyslexia to a girl who is confident and who turns out to be the class president all because of one teacher who belived in her

My favorite read aloud was Assassin because of how it showed different character point of views.It was my favorite book because you got to see the views of both Bella and John Wilkes Booth. Others would enjoy it because it is interesting to read and something that if we didn't read it in class I would have been stuck to the book. My favorite book I read this year was the Boy in the Striped Pajamas because you saw what happened to young boys and girls during WWII and their perspective on it.

I think reading is important because it develops the mind. It teaches us to think both critically and creatively. Only in books is the impossible made possible, where dreams really do come true. Every book gives us something. A lesson, a friend, an opportunity to witness magic. Reading is the foundation of everything - and only with a good foundation has the ability to withstand the weight of life. 

Some my find it strange that a "reading teacher" could grow as a reader. But I find that every year I learn more and more from my students. This year, the ferocious appetite my students had for books pushed me to want to read more as well. I found a new love for mysteries and look forward to exploring that even more this summer! 

A genre that I really enjoyed was nonfiction. This is a new favorite of mine where I usually lean towards the realistic fiction books (and trust me I still love them too!). Seeing the world through other peoples viewpoint was so interesting, and I found myself learning more about topics I thought I was familiar with. It is a genre I look forward to exploring even more! I have my eyes set on "The President Has Been Shot!" By: James L. Swanson.

Next year I would like to challenge myself to read out of my comfort zone. This is something I encourage my students to do but I find myself reaching for the same types of books. I really want to find some great poetry or verse collections, as well as some graphic novels.

I think reading is important because.... It can help you when you have to write, books can open you to new writing styles and open new words that you might not have known.

A new to me read, Myers assassin gives a fictional point of view to the man who took our 16th President. We find ourself looking at Booth through the eyes of a young girl, in love with the then star. You learn how charismatic Booth could be and the true devastation that was felt by all during a time when our country was truly divided. In vivid tales, we are faced with the a man who felt it was his greatest duty and honor to defeat Lincoln and uphold the America of the past. Highly recommend take the time to read! 

My favorite book this year would be Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian My favorite read-aloud would be Fahrenheit 451.

Why this book was my favorite because I loved the story and it always made me want to keep reading. I think others would enjoy it because it is a kid friendly story and great meaning to life.

My favorite book I read this year was the book, "Finally 12."

This book was my favorite to read this year because I love the author who writes amazing stories and this book is a crazy adventure which I thought was so fun and made me wanna see what happens next! I think others would enjoy this book because It is such a fun and crazy story that makes you on your toes to see what happens next.

My favorite read aloud this year... HERO by Mike Lupica This was a fantasy book about a hero figures out that he has superpowers and tries to use them. He tries to do good by saving the senator. Other people should read it because it is a detailed and interesting book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It's a perfect book for 5th to 8th graders.

My favorite book I read this year... Diary of a Wimpy Kid Dog Days By: Jeff Kinney This book is my favorite because it is funny and serious at the same time. Greg and Rowley break up their friendship because they disagreed on their lawn business. Kids would enjoy it because it is a detailed book. I suggest this book for 4th to 7th graders.

Everything, Everything By Nicola Yoon, has been one of my favorite book I have read this year. I like it so much because the sorry was about a girl with a very rare disease and could not be let outside but one day starts to fall in love with the guy next door to her. This story has always given me curiosity as to how difficult it would be to fall in live with a person you cannot touch but I saw how the story and its characters slowly fell in love with each other, even admit the difficult challenges. 

Assassin By Anna Myers, is my favorite read aloud because of the multiple times that Miss English would stop at suspenseful parts in the book, making my classmates and I want to find out more of what happened next. It is also my favorite read aloud because of some of the most hilarious jokes or comments made by classmates  during the read aloud made by my teacher.   

my favorite read aloud this year was....... "Chasing King's Killer" By James L. Swanson

why? "Chasing King's Killer" was my favorite because I have always loved that specific genre. It always appealed to me. The book was full of fact from that time and it also gave me some insight of what it was like in the 1960s.

The Hunger games: catching fire by Suzanne Collins was my favorite independent book because it was suspenseful and gave me some new vocabulary.

Hero by Mike Lupica was my favorite read aloud because it was the most suspenseful and the most entertaining in my opinion.

My favorite book that I have read this year was Wings of Fire, Dragonslayer By Tu T Sutherland. I enjoyed this book so much because the series has been mostly focusing on the perspective of the dragons but it was interesting to see the perspective of the humans. I think others would enjoy this book because it is a very fun read and filled interesting adventures. My favorite read-aloud book this year was Assassin by Anna Myers. I enjoyed this book because it was suspenseful and told the very interesting story of Lincoln's killing. I believe others would enjoy this book because it gives a historical fiction explanation on how John Wilkes Booth was able to get away with Lincoln's killing for a few weeks before being killed.

Hatchet was my favorite my book because when I was reading it I did not want to put it down.

The Diary of a Wimpy kid books were my favorite books this year! Diary of a Wimpy kid books were my favorite because they would make me laugh and they would bring off a lot of good energy.

This was my favorite read aloud book I read this year because I felt like I could connect to it in a lot of ways. My whole life I have had trouble reading and learning. Ally helped me to believe in myself and stay postive no matter the situation. I would recommend this book to anyone would wants to read a true to heart touching story.

To All the Boys I've Loved Before By: Jenny Han

This was my favorite book I read this year because it was different than any other book I've read. I originally watched the movie before reading the book and I am actually glad I did that. I got to see the differences between the two and let me say the book was by far much better. It was also different than other books I have read because of how long it was but while reading it I was caught up about how much I read and how long it took me to read it. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an unpredicted love story. 

I can grow s a reader by reading more often. I can also read harder books.

In another detailed account of historical tragedy, James L. Swanson uses his uncanny ability to tell stories to make any reader feel that they are experiencing the death of MLK with the world in the 1950s. He gives essential background information dating back a decade, to help paint the picture of a men, one desperate to change the world for the better and the other to for the worse. This is a unique nonfiction tale, jam packed with information but writing well enough to feel like a mystery you have not solved before. I was not surprised to find the 2nd book in the trio to be fantastic, but I am looking for to the next and last one to take me on yet another adventure through American history. A great read for any reluctant nonfiction reader.

I think reading is important because, it helps us get a benefit for extending our knowledge in writing and vocabulary. For me I have always seen reading as a get away from reality, a place where you can explore your imagination and that is exactly what it has helped me do. Reading helps me and other kids out there to imagine what it would be like living in somewhere where you can have an adventure.  Some might find reading boring and not useful but I think it is the complete opposite as it has made me become a better reader and writer in school. I also think reading is important because we get to experience great literature that some kids don't get, I couldn't be more grateful for the books I have been able to read and have taught me so much too. 

Reading has challenged me to do many things, it has challenged me to ready more upscale level books that  thought I didn't have a capacity to read but it made me get a benefit from it as my knowledge had grown more from just reading. And as I continue to discover more book I hope to challenge myself to discover new adventure  I could find and new ways to stretch my capacity of knowledge and literature .

The Genre I liked this years is realistic fiction because  it makes me have a get a way from reality's harsh world and I sometimes want to imagine myself in one of the characters places, and thinking what it would like to live like one of them whether that would be living in London having a cup of tea with the queen, but either I like enjoying myself daydream of how it would be like to be in the story and being with the real characters facing real adventures that I can't see my self facing. 

I now challenge myself to read other types of genre that I rarely read or that I don't enjoy that much, this is because I want to expand my taste in literature and challenge myself to get out of my confer zone and maybe i'll find something new that I will love. 

My favorite is running out of time by: Margaret Peterson because there is a lot of action in it that i really want to read more of it

My favorite read aloud book is hero by: mike lupica because it shows a lot of emotion and i love emotion books because they make me feel like this book is so good and people should read it

A genre that I really enjoyed was Comedy-Drama because it teaches me through shared experience and it's also fun to watch. When I read Comedy-Drama there is a lot going on so it's cool to see all the adventures the story has.

This is my favorite aloud book because out of all books, it really stood out, and is a realistic fiction, so it was also an event that could happen. It caught my attention the most because the main character was a sixth or seventh grader. I think others would enjoy this book for the same reasons I did, and it was just an interesting book to me and others that was a great lesson all together.

This is my favorite book because it gave detail, and I don't have to many books I really enjoy, but this was a true story, and I love it.

I think reading is important because this is how you can knowledge about things that happen all over the word. I grew as a reader by understanding newer word and reading more books in a year than I ever had before. A genre I really enjoyed was Historical fiction because I really like World War II and I read a lot of these books to help me get a deeper understanding of that time period. Next year I would like to challenge myself to 50 book's.

With a mix of mystery and superheroes, Mile Lupica introduces us to Zach Harriman. A boy who not only us dealing with the loss of his father but the discovery of skills he never knew he had. With the help of his best friend, Zach develops his "super abilities" in hopes of being even half the man he thought his dad to be. Lupica offers a superhero story with a twist. Zach has to not only fight the "bads" but make a decision on who he trusts! This kept my on my toes, wondering what Zach was going to do next and who really was on his side! 

I think reading is important because it gives skills, it helps your brain develop more information, and expands vocabulary.

I grew as a reader this school year by doing vocabulary essays, and forcing myself to read although I dislike it. I listened to others read as well.

A genre that I really enjoyed was graphic novel because I read a lot of those because this year I tried to read more, and to start I was reading the easier stuff and working to the harder stuff. The books are also very interesting and I enjoy the read, but not like anime graphics, only the real life story ones, or Raina Telegeimer books.

Next year I would like to challenge myself with more challenging books, and pushing myself to my fullest. I should be efficient with my work, and try to get it done sooner so I don't procrastinate.

Hero is my favorite read aloud because when we first started reading I wasn't very interested. The next day, I was paying more attention to the book and I thought,"Okay, this is good." I realized since that day, that everyday that goes by, I become more interested in the book. I always came to class and sat there waiting until we could read. The book couldn't get out of my head after class. It made me think of predictions and imaginations. When we got to the end I was so bumped that it was over. I didn't want it to end, but it had to. It ended with such a cliffhanger and I wondered what would happen next. I suggest people to read this book because it really changed my mind about books, so I decided to read more of these types of books because I can't get enough of them. This is what I think about Hero.

It could be action drama or just funny books there are rhyming books to so you can read what ever you want whenever you want. Most of all you could read about baking or cooking and still do better at reading and also it can help you in the future or like if you want to run a business you can read a book on how business work and still do good that is why i think reading is important.

No matter what level of reading you are on there will always be another book to read another page to write and another author that writes a book. and there will always bee another subject to write about no matter who you are.

My favorite genre is historical fiction because it is based off of what happened in the past so it is kinda like a history lesson while reading something like different at the same time.

My goal for next year is to get to 40 books and read alot more historical fiction.

It was my favorite because taught me about Zach Ertz life and his football drills that I loved and how he made it to the NFL.

My favorite read allowed was Assassin. It liked this book because we just read Chasing Lincolns Killer and it seemed very fitting. 

Title: IT Author: Stephen King This was my favorite book because I do really enjoy horror. I had read after seeing IT Chapter 1 and IT Chapter 2 and I really like how Stephen King writes his stories.

I think reading is important because you learn new vocabulary words that you didn't know before. I grew as a reader this school year by reading more books which challenged me. A genre that I really enjoyed was fiction because the author's imagination and creativity make the book interesting. Next year I would like to challenge myself by reading a genre that I'm not used to.

Chasing King's Killer By: James L. Swanson

This is my favorite book because I got to know more about the assassination on Martin Luther King JR. I think others would enjoy this book because not many people know about the assassin and in this book you get to know about the assassin and what it took for him to do it.

This is my favorite book that I read this year because it was based off of my favorite TV show. It was also the perfect mix of drama and romance.

The 40 Book Challenge is designed to put the joy back into independent reading. It is a vetted program based on The Book Whisperer by Donalyn Miller. We all know that reading touches every aspect of learning and the more we intentionally practice this discipline, the more successful we will be in all areas of life. Reading is EVERYWHERE! 

The 40 Book Challenge is just that – a personal CHALLENGE. It is not a class grade. It is not a mandatory program. It is not meant to deflate student achievement. It is merely meant to push students, teachers, and families to embrace a culture of reading, to explore all genres, and to push beyond our comfort zones.

My favorite read aloud was Divergent. This is written by Veronica Roth and the genre is science fiction. This book is similar to the Hunger games. In this book there are different factions, and in the hunger games there are different districts. I also love this book! It is full of action, romance, fright, drama, and fights. I recommend this book and I give it 5 stars.

I like this book because it was very inspiring and it shows how people live there lives in Africa. It also shows leader ship and how to be a leader.

I liked this book because it was action-packed and I think people will like it if they like action books 

The Hunger Games is a great book written by Suzanne Collins. The genre of this book is science fiction. There are two other books in the hunger games series which come after this book. The Hunger Games is full of action, adventure, fright, and even some romance. I highly recommend this book. I am not the kind of person who likes science fiction, but I really love this book!

My favorite book I read this year was Frankenstein by Mary Shelley because it was a fantastic story that had elements of sadness, triumph, and fear throughout the tale. The interesting and, for the most part, likeable characters, especially the surprisingly sympatheic monster also make this a must read for anyone

I enjoy reading because it is a great way to expand your vocabulary and take you to a different world of imagination. It is a great Pastime and a relaxing way to spend a day. I have grown as a reader by being able to understand harder genres like classic literature and Shakespeare. It has become less difficult to be able to understand what the author is trying to portray to us the reader. A genre that I enjoy reading is fantasy. I like reading fantasy because it expands your imagination and can take you to a world that is completely different from your own. Next year I would like to challenge myself by reading more classic literature and trying to understand more challenging books.
