Identify wind power as a source of new energy Investigate how it works Distinguish between renewable and non-renewable energy. Participate in the creation of an interactive Nearpod lesson. This lesson is meant to be an introduction to the unit, previous to a vistit to a local Wind Power Plant

When learning shapes, students create an eBook of shapes. Where possible, they create a 3D model the shape, model the shape in Geoboard and take photos of as many items resembling their shape as possible. They include all the material in their shape book and record their voice to describe the main characteristics of all shapes.

4. Based on the information they collect, they will create a conceptual map with the Kidspiration app, which will include animal categories and typical pictures as examples. Conceptual charts will be printed and will be posted on the class wall as an educational material that students can refer to at any time

1. We talk to children about the variety of animals in nature. We ask them to tell us initially couples of animals that do not share the same characteristics and then couples of animals with common features. Then we ask the children how would they categorize the animals if they were able to do so. We note their responses on the board. 2. We project a <a href="https://youtu.be/dCm5CcQhU-c">video </a>from youtube on categorizing animals according to their characteristics. 3. We divide the children into groups of four and we ask them with the help of their tablets to search the internet for information and keep notes on animal categories and their characteristics. Featured sites: wikipedia (<a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertebrate">vertebrates</a>, <a href="https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Invertebrate">invertebrates</a>), <a href="https://www.ducksters.com/animals.php">Ducksters</a>

1 Discussion about different maps and why it is important to know how to read a map 2 Students draw a simple map of the area using iPad app Paper 3 Students import the ready map to ThingLink 4 Students walk around, try to spot something interesting. They take photos (each pair 2-4) and insert them to their ThingLink map. 5 Pairs swap the iPads with ThingLink maps. They have to locate the “treasure” and take exactly the same pictures. 6 Discussion and feedback

Students will do some research and they will find out that the animals are being categorized according to their characteristics. Firstly they will express their own thoughts and ideas about the criteria that they would use in order to divide the animals into group. Then they will get some ideas, via a small video, and finally they will gather information according to the worksheet. At the end all the groups will create a conceptual map using Kidspiration app which will be printed and posted in the classroom.
