This is a vampire squid!! This sea creature looks like a squid and an octopus. It comes from the early ancestors of the octopus and it's considered to be an extremophile. An extremophile is organism that thrives in extreme environment. Vampire squids are usually 12 inches long , and usually weigh around one pound, but don't worry it's not poisonous!!

Do you like school lunch? Probably not. Most students don't like the food that school serves but that doesn't mean all students that order school food hate it. Food lunches vary in taste and quality around the world, which means not all of it is bad.

Some of the weirdest pets that teachers have kept in the classroom are snakes , ferrets , birds, rabbits, frogs, hamsters, hedgehogs and more. Some of these animals are pretty cute (like rabbits and hamsters) but they aren't easy to take care of so I don't recommend having any of these pets in the classroom. Since these pets are already difficult to take care of on their own, why make students take care of them? Who will take care of them when there's no school? Although those are less of a problem with rabbits, snakes, and birds and more of a problem with class pets in general.

Some school lunches are also unfit for kid's and can cause health problems for kids that consume said food in the future. The fact that about 30.6 million students consume school food vs packing their own food is a problem since SOME school foods are really unhealthy and low quality.

All of theses students have been trying their hardest to make a new, interesting, unique magazine for GSOTA. Each student has a different job that they need to fill out to create the best magazine they can. 

School Events Coming up Harvest Feast - November 5th Book Character day - October 31st Family Book Reading Event - October 26th Don't forget about the scholastic book fair. Students will also be popping up around the classroom to take photos for the yearbook make sure to pose! And speaking of pictures, picture day is coming up soon!

 We are doing a Fall theme look. Enjoy the spooky season. Also a special thanks to Ms. Axelrad for helping out as well.

Ms.Rodriguez picked Abigail for the student of the week. Ms.Rodrigues chose Abigail because, “she is very bright, caring, thoughtful, and positive.” She also stated that, “her attitude near changes or fades, she’s a joy to have.” Abigail said, “I think I deserve it because I feel like I do all my work and listen.” She was super happy  she was chosen.

The student of the week this week was picked by Mr. Teller. He chose 6th grader Amberlynn.  Mr. Teller said that he choose Amber because "She is a sweet wonderful person, and she's very smart as well." Amberlynn said she felt surprised and happy. "I think I deserve it because I do the best I can." She said when asked do you think you deserve to be in the magazine. When interviewed Amberlynn was responsible and respectful, smart girl with a lot going for her.
