Ingredients ----------------------- 10 Tablespoons&nbsp;(2/3 cup;&nbsp;145g)&nbsp;unsalted butter, softened to&nbsp;room temperature 3/4 cup&nbsp;(150g) packed light or dark&nbsp;brown sugar 2/3 cup&nbsp;(160ml) unsulphured&nbsp;molasses 1&nbsp;large&nbsp;egg, at room temperature 1 teaspoon&nbsp;pure vanilla extract 3&nbsp;and 1/2 cups (438g)&nbsp;all-purpose flour&nbsp;(spoon &amp; leveled) 1 teaspoon&nbsp;baking soda 1/2 teaspoon&nbsp;salt 1 Tablespoon&nbsp;ground ginger&nbsp;(yes,&nbsp;1&nbsp;full Tablespoon!) 1 Tablespoon&nbsp;ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon&nbsp;ground allspice 1/2 teaspoon&nbsp;ground cloves Royal icing and cookie icing ----------------------------------------------- To put your own twist to it decorate it however you'd like

Cocoa powder&nbsp;– be sure it’s unsweetened Sugar&nbsp;– add granulated sugar to your desired sweetness Chocolate&nbsp;– melt in semisweet or bittersweet chocolate chips, chunks, or shavings for a rich chocolate flavor Milk&nbsp;– we use whole milk for a creamier consistency and it incorporates chocolate better than skim milk. Vanilla extract&nbsp;– use&nbsp;homemade vanilla&nbsp;for the best taste For an extra rich and creamy hot cocoa:&nbsp;replace 1 cup of whole milk with a cup of half and half or heavy cream.

1. In America for Halloween we carve pumpkins but in Mexico they carve Radishes for Christmas. 2. In the Netherlands instead on stocking by the fire place they put their shoes. 3. Usually in houses all across America we put up a star on our Christmas tree or maybe an angel but in Germany they put pickles in their trees. That's got to stink!! 4. On Christmas eve the Norwegians people hide their brooms in their closets, or else witches will wake up and take them to ride across the country if they are not hidden. 5. After a long winter, everyone was ready to be outside. The Bear Dance was&nbsp;one way which people could release their tensions.

This is this months students of the month! Congratulations for being top in your class and making it onto the magazine! 

The first grade cheerleaders Christmas event is coming up and so we have interviewed Mrs Signorelli the teacher in charge of the event and the leader of the cheerleaders. She said that "I have always been into cheer I have started since 5th grade for me." Two cheerleaders Nezzy and Jalen added on to Mrs Ms Signorelli they both said that the reason their in cheerleading was they wanted to try something new and thought that Ms Signorell was super cool.

The Cheerleading Christmas event is on December 11th in Jupiter at 1pm, Ms Signorelli and all the cheerleaders have worked really hard to get the evet perfect so let's all support them this Sunday.

This weeks holiday is Kwanzaa! Kwanzaa is a weeklong African/African American celebration of life it starts on december 26 to january 1st. It is a time of learning, family, and celebration. During the celebration of of Kwanzaa, families and communities come together to share a feast to honor their ancestors, affirm the bonds between them, and to celebrate African and African American culture.

1. Snow is&nbsp;clear it looks white when sunlight reflects off of it.&nbsp;

2. February is usually the&nbsp;coldest snowiest month. 

3. Polar bears and&nbsp;penguins don’t live in the same place. Polar bears live close to the north pole, and penguins live closer to the south pole.

4. The Winter Solstice is the&nbsp;shortest day&nbsp;of the year because it has the fewest hours of sunlight.

5. Does winter make you think of&nbsp;North Pole&nbsp;(where stories say Santa Claus lives)? The South Pole is actually colder than the North Pole!

This week will be learning about Polar Bears. They are considered very fast swimmers and can swim up to 6 mph. They have a thick layer of body fat and a water-repellent coat that insulates them from the cold air and water. Polar Bears spend up to 50% of time hunting and looking for food. They can catch one or two seals every time they go hunting.

6. A wood&nbsp;frog‘s body can&nbsp;freeze solid&nbsp;during winter, but they don’t die! They will thaw when the temperature warms back up.

This weeks student of the week is Gabby in 8th grade. Mr. Joseph chose her because "in short, she was picked because she is an exceptional&nbsp;student. Gabby is a dedicated artist to her craft and truly pays attention to each lesson, and you can see her talent really shine through from what she has learned with each lesson. She never interrupts class, is always on task, and overall is a model student, and helps other students when they need help". When we asked Ms.Edwards why she thinks she got student of the week she said "Because I try my hardest to complete the assignment im given." Gabby said she felt pretty good about getting student of the week. Gabby believes she deserves the spotlight because she tries her hardest.

School gates are closed at 8:15. Any drinks except for water is prohibited on school grounds. Holiday Spirit Week starts on December 16th The winter break starts on December 19th through January 3rd. On December 14th there is going to be Holiday Winter Concert at 6pm.

All of these students have been trying their hardest to make a new, interesting, unique magazine for GSOTA. Each student has a different job that they need to fill out to create the best magazine they can. A special thanks to Ms. Axelrad for helping out as well!

This week's elementary student of the week is Dylan Matto'Vail in 2nd grade chosen by Ms Lexi is room 201. Ms Lexi picked him because "He's always on time, tries his best, asks help when he needs it, and is overall an amazing student." Dylan said that he is happy his teacher picked him and thought that he had chance because "I got good grade and mine nice." Dylan was kind and compliant when being interviewed and has a bright future.
