If a student interrupts or if you have a talking point, the novel effect will automatically stop.

If you are in a classroom, make sure the app is hooked in to your projector and/or speakers so students can hear the sounds.

You can read a book from your library, you can read an e-book from any site, or there are e-books available on the app.

Anyone can use novel effect. It is for any age.

You can also record yourself reading and use novel effect. Be aware of copyright.

The app occasionally can go out of sync a little bit, you may have to speed up your cadence.

Choose books with animals or actions for a more interactive read.

You can request books from Novel Effect to be added to their collection!

Using a mobile device, take pictures of each page of the book you would like to read.

We recommend importing the pictures to PowerPoint, so you can use their page curl tool. You could also do this in Spark, Flipgrid, iMovie etc.

After importing pictures, make sure every book page has its own slide. Make sure each page fits the dimension of the slide.

Feel free to add borders to make it pretty!

Then use the transition - page curl.

Using Screencastify (make sure your picture is in a corner) or some other video recording app, start reading from your PowerPoint. At the same time, on a different device you will start Novel Effect. As you read, hit the arrow to advance to the next slide on PowerPoint.

Have fun! Enjoy!
