In Year 1, we had an exciting opportunity to hear about Nick Carters exciting adventure in the Amazon Rainforest. He talked to the children about the importance of being 'tough'. He discussed three elements that can help us to become tougher. We tested our toughness by competing in a 'Fun Run'. Click on the link to see more http://committedproject.org/junglechallenge/

Art - Winter Scene
We created shades of colour by adding white to blue. This was the start of our winter scene.
We drew silhouettes of a house and a tree and cut them out for our winter picture.

Finally, we painted some snowflakes and sprinkled some glitter to create a wintery effect.
D.T. Christmas Decorations
The children had to make a Christmas decoration that could move and hang on a tree. We trialed various resources to determine which was the most effective for our decorations. We decided to use split pins so that the decorations could have moving parts.
Once the children had tested using the split pins they designed their own Christmas decoration such as a snowman, a reindeer or Santa.
