Introduction
Hi, today you will read and learn about J.K Rowling. She is a famous British author, wrote her first two books at a very young age, and she wrote the Harry Potter books. Childhood
Joanne Kathleen Rowling ( now known as J.K Rowling) was born on July 31, 1965 in Yate, United Kingdom. Her parents were Anne and Peter Rowling, and her sister was Dianne Rowling. Joanne wrote her first book at the age of 6. She called it, 'Rabbit'. At the age of 11, she wrote her first novel. It was about 7 cursed Diamonds and the people that owned them.
Education
J.K Rowling went to many schools: ST Michael's Primary school,Wyedean school, ect. She studied writing at ST Michael's .In college, she studied French , in classics, or in french and classics at University of Exeter. She graduated college in 1986.After college, she went to work at Amnesty International. The organization focuses on human rights.There she started to write Harry Potter adventures.
Writing Career
In 1990, J.K Rowling started to write the Harry Potter books. So far, there are 8 books in the series. She has also written other books. Here are some examples: The Ickabog, The Christmas Pig, The tales of Beedle the Bard. These are just a few books to name. In total, she has at least written 19 books. Now, back to the Harry Potter books. The original Harry Potter was rejected 12 times. She is still writing today.
