Horrid Henry and the Haunted House
Have you ever been trapped in a haunted house? Peter has. And this is how it happened...
It was October the 31st and horrid Henry and his perfect brother Peter were racing down the street after school. Suddenly, Henry saw a spooky, haunted house at his neighbours's garden.
" Why haven't l seen it before? "Is it Moody Margaret's Halloween trick?" thought Henry. Peter started humming Jingle Bells annoyingly. It wasn't even Christmas! Henry thought of a mean plan!

" Why haven't l seen it before? "Is it Moody Margaret's Halloween trick?" thought Henry. Peter started humming Jingle Bells annoyingly. It wasn't even Christmas! Henry thought of a mean plan!
When they got home, Henry stayed in the garden. He lurked in the shadows until he saw his brother walking back down the garden path in his stupid white bunny rabbit Halloween costume. 'Bleurgh! Why is he going trick or treating dressed like that!' thought Henry. He wanted to execute his plan even more now.
“Hey Peter, do you want to get the best trick or treat candy in the world?” asked Henry.
“Really? Yes please!” answered Peter excitedly.
Grinning, Horrid Henry led Perfect Peter through the creaky wooden fence to the door of the haunted house. He opened it slowly.
“Is this safe?” asked Peter.
“No!” shouted Henry and he pushed Perfect Peter through the door into the darkness.
“Hey Peter, do you want to get the best trick or treat candy in the world?” asked Henry.
“Really? Yes please!” answered Peter excitedly.
Grinning, Horrid Henry led Perfect Peter through the creaky wooden fence to the door of the haunted house. He opened it slowly.
“Is this safe?” asked Peter.
“No!” shouted Henry and he pushed Perfect Peter through the door into the darkness.
Naughtily, Henry locked the door. He could hear Peter in the haunted house screaming like a banshee.
“Let me out!” he cried.
“l will never let you out unless you give me all your trick or treat sweets!” said Henry cheekily.

Sour Susan was inside Moody Margaret's house playing cards.
"Did you hear something Susan?" asked Margaret.
"No" answered Susan.
"I think I did. I'll go and check if anyone is inside the haunted house" replied Margaret.
Henry saw Margaret coming down the garden path and he hid behind the house. Margaret opened the door and saw Peter crying and shaking with terror.
“Get out you worm!” she shouted.
Horrid Henry cried with happiness. It was the best Halloween ever!
"Did you hear something Susan?" asked Margaret.
"No" answered Susan.
"I think I did. I'll go and check if anyone is inside the haunted house" replied Margaret.
Henry saw Margaret coming down the garden path and he hid behind the house. Margaret opened the door and saw Peter crying and shaking with terror.
“Get out you worm!” she shouted.
Horrid Henry cried with happiness. It was the best Halloween ever!
