The International Day of Forests is marked on March 21 every year, all over the world. The International Day of Forests was established on November 28, 2012 by the General Assembly of the United Nations. It aims to sensitize mankind on the importance of forests for our planet and for society and to raise awareness of the management, conservation and sustainable development of all types of forests, for the benefit of present and future generations.
The theme for each International Day of Forests is chosen by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests.
International Day of Forests 2024 will be celebrated on the theme, 'Forests and Innovation'. The Day celebrates and raises awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
The day serves as a reminder that forests are important and that we need to do more to conserve them and spread awareness of forest-related issues.
