五星红旗

中华人民共和国国旗旗面为红色象征革命。 旗上的五颗五角星及其相互关系象征共产党领导下的革命人民大团结。 星用黄色是为着在红地上显出光明,四颗小五角星各有一角正对着大星的中心点,表示围绕着一个中心而团结。
The national flag of the People's Republic of China is red to symbolize revolution. The five five-pointed stars on the flag and their relationship symbolize the great unity of the revolutionary people under the leadership of the Communist Party. The yellow star is used to show its brightness on the red ground. Each of the four small five-pointed stars has a corner facing the center of the big star, which means they are united around a center.

Official language
There are several hundred languages in China. The predominant language is Standart Chinese, which is based on central Mandarin, but there are hundreds of related Chinese languages, collectively known as Hanyu (simplified chinese: 汉语;traditional chinese: 漢語 (Hànyǔ) ('Han language'), that are spoken by 92% of the population. The Chinese (or 'Sinitic') languages are typically divided into seven major language groups, and their study is a distinct academic discipline. They differ as much from each other morphologically and phonetically, but meanwhile share the same writing system (汉字) and are mutually intelligible in written form. There are in addition approximately 300 minority languages spoken by the remaining 8% of the population of China.
