What should I do if I can't attend school?

How can I monitor my achievements in school?
If you're unable to attend school your parent/carer should let us know by contacting our attendance team on 01443 486133

It has been proven that the more pupils attend school, the more likely they are to succeed in their studies, so we ask that all pupils aim for a minimum of 95% attendance. You will track your attendance every week with your form tutor, so it's important that you let us know the reasons for any absences.
How can I monitor my achievements in school?
In September, you and your parents/carers will be asked to download an app called ClassCharts. This app will allow you and your parents/carers to monitor your behaviour and achievements in Pontypridd High School throughout each year. You can achieve positive points from your classroom teachers and other staff in the school for an excellent attitude to learning. Unfortunately, some pupils will be given negative points for any poor behaviour they display.
How do I find out about school transport?
What is the school uniform?
If you are in Year 6, you will be sent a bus pass over the Summer holidays in 2023. This pass will have a bus number on it which will allow you to get on the correct bus. Each morning you will be picked up at your nearest designated bus stop. At the end of the day, there are several members of staff on bus duty who will help you find your bus to go home. Please visit the RCT website to find out more about school transport or contact us at school.
What is the school uniform?
Shoes - Plain black, flat shoes.
Trousers/Skirt - Plain black. No jeans or types of denim. The skirt MUST be knee-length and acceptable to the school. Tight 'tube' skirts are not acceptable.
Shirt/Sweater - A white, short-sleeved polo shirt with a school badge. A black sweatshirt with a school badge, a black v-knecked jumper with a school badge or a black waist-length cardigan with a school badge.
